FPC Marietta - English Cathedral Residency

March 29 - April 7, 2027

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday March 29: Overnight Flight

Depart from the US on your overnight flight to London

Day 2, Tuesday March 30: Exeter

Arrive at London Heathrow airport and meet your Encore Tour Manager. Depart on your deluxe motorcoaches for Exeter, with an en route stop at the ancient monument of Stonehenge. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight and settle into your hotel (D)

Day 3, Wednesday March 31: Exeter

This morning rehearse in the Cathedral's Choir School in preparation for today's service. During the day visit Knightshayes Court, An extravagant Gothic revival country house, featuring oopulent interiors and is surrounded by one of the finest walled kitchen gardens and woodland parks in the Southwest of England. Return to Exeter to sing Evensong today as part of your residency. Dinner tonight is independent (B)

Day 4, Thursday April 1: Exeter

This morning rehearse in the Cathedral's Choir School in preparation for today's service. During the day visit the Dartmouth Steam Railway, one of the finest preserved heritage railways in the UK, followed by a visit to Greenway House, the beloved holiday home of the famous and much loved author Agatha Christie and her family. Return to Exeter to sing Evensong today as part of your residency. Dinner tonight is independent (B)

Day 5, Friday April 2: London

Check out of your hotel and begin the journey to London for the weekend. En route make a stop for lunch and an informal recital in a city such as Salisbury or Winchester, before continuing to London (B,L)

Day 6, Saturday April 3: London

This morning depart by train for the city of Canterbury and its magnificent Cathedral, the seat of the Anglican church worldwide and a 11th Century architectural marvel. Return to London to explore the capital city at your leisure for the rest of the day (B)

Day 7, Sunday April 4: Bath

This morning participate in the morning service at one of London's many imposing churches, and spend some time exploring the area around the church. Later depart West once more for the city of Bath, arriving in time for an independent dinner (B)

Day 8, Monday April 5: Bath

Make the short journey to Wells to rehearse in preparation for today's service. Spend time exploring this pretty city, one of the smallest cathedral cities in the UK, which has been used as a movie and TV location on many occasions. Come together to sing Evensong as part of your residency in this wonderful cathedral. (B)

Day 9, Tuesday April 6: Bath

This morning after a short rehearsal in the Choir School, pay a visit to the famous Roman Baths that give the city its name, and marvel at the ingenuity of the Romans to create one of the world's first 'spa resorts'! Later sing the service at Wells Cathedral once more as you complete your residency here, followed by a farewell dinner in a local restaurant (B,D)

Day 10, Wednesday April 7: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
