Baby Grands - Vienna & Salzburg

March 17 - 24, 2027

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Wednesday March 17: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Thursday March 18: Salzburg

Upon arrival in Europe this morning, meet your tour manager and transfer by mini coach to the city of Salzburg. En route you may like to visit the Chiemsee Lake and take an optional boat trip on the lake, where you can discover Prince Ludwig's Palace of Mirrors.. On arrival in Salzburg check into your hotel, and have a brief orientation tour with your tour manager before dinner in the hotel (B)

Day 3, Friday March 19: Salzburg

After breakfast begin exploring one of the most picturesque European cities on foot with your tour manager. Indeed, Salzburg is all of Europe in concentrated form with a castle, cathedral, squares, gardens, spires, and rivers. The city's reputation is based on a living musical tradition, the city of Mozart. Its beauty and vibrant musical life have made it one of Europe's foremost cultural cities. Your visit includes Mozart's birthplace museum on the main shopping street of the city, as well as more modern musical references in the form of locations used in the Sound of Music movie! Dinner is in a local restaurant before returning to your hotel (B,D)

Day 4, Saturday March 20: Salzburg

After a leisurely morning in the city, board your minicoach to pay a visit to the picturesque lakeside town of Hallstatt, nestled between majestic mountains. Today's concert venue is the protestant church in the town, which accepts a wide range of repertoire. After dinner in a local restaurant, return to your hotel (B)

Day 5, Sunday March 21: Vienna

This morning board the fast, clean and comfortable 'Railjet' train bound for Vienna, taking under 3 hours to cover the distance. On arrival use your 72 hour metro pass to transfer to your hotel by public transport. This afternoon begin to explore the city on a brief orientation tour with your tour manager, before dinner together in a city restaurant (B,D)

Day 6, Monday March 22: Vienna

Today you'll use the safe, clean and efficient Vienna public transit system to explore one of the world's most musical cities, Vienna, home to great symphonists and choral composers from Haydn through to Schoenberg: your exploration includes the wonderful St Stephen's Cathedral, where you'll be able to give a midday recital! Later after dinner visit the wonderful interactive Haus der Musik, where you can learn more about the musical masters, and even try your hand at conducting the virtual Vienna Philharmonic! (B)

Day 7, Tuesday March 23: Vienna

Today sees your final performance, a midday recital in the stunning surroundings of Vienna's St Stephens Cathedral. The rest of the day is free to continue to explore the city: you could spend time shopping on the Kartnerstrasse, take an independent tour of the State Opera House, or even make an optional visit to the Spanish Riding School. This evening enjoy a visit to one of Europe's original amusement parks, the Prater Park, for a farewell dinner. After dinner you may like to ride the famous Riesenrad ferris wheel as the sun sets on the city, and on your successful tour! (B,D)

Day 8, Wednesday March 24: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
