Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Tuesday June 15: Montreal
Depart on your daytime flight to Montreal, arriving in the late afternoon/evening. Meet your tour managers and transfer to your hotel in time for dinner together (D)
Day 2, Wednesday June 16: Montreal
After breakfast at the hotel, dive straight into the musical aspect of your trip with a full morning orchestral workshop/masterclass with a prominent professional from one of the region's top orchestras. After an independent lunch, enjoy a guided tour of Montreal, including the historic streets of Old Montreal and the stunning Notre-Dame Basilica, Tonight after dinner take in a performance by a professional symphony such as the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal (schedule-dependent) (B,D)
Day 3, Thursday June 17: Montreal
This morning take in the panoramic views from the Mount Royal overlook. Then visit to either the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts or the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, exploring the city’s rich artistic and historical treasures. Lunch is on your own in Old Montreal, with time to explore its cafés and boutiques. After taking your main meal this lunchtime, the aftenroon is taken up for rehearsal and sound check at your performance venue before your opening concert tonight. (B,D)
Day 4, Friday June 18: Quebec
After breakfast check out and depart for Quebec City. After a brief independent lunch stop, visit the traditional Huron Wendat village on the edge of the city, and learn about the traditions of the Canadian First Nation, including their music and dance, handcrafts and food traditions. Later continue to your second hotel in the city, and take dinner together at a traditional Quebecois Cabane au Sucre (sugar shack) (B,D) Upon arrival, embark on a guided bus tour of Greater Quebec, followed by free time for lunch and shopping in charming Old Quebec. Experience a scenic ride across the majestic St. Lawrence River on the Quebec ferry boat, offering spectacular views of the illuminated Château Frontenac and the city’s historic fortifications. Back on shore, take the funiculaire glass elevator to the Dufferin Terrace for breathtaking panoramic views and perfect photo opportunities. Check into your hotel and freshen up before a festive dinner at a traditional sugar shack. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Quebec City. (B.D)
Day 5, Saturday June 19: Quebec
This morning is free for shopping in charming Old Quebec. After an independent lunch experience a scenic ride across the majestic St. Lawrence River on the Quebec ferry boat, offering spectacular views of the illuminated Château Frontenac and the city’s historic fortifications. Back on shore, take the funiculaire glass elevator to the Dufferin Terrace for breathtaking panoramic views and perfect photo opportunities. Today sees your second concert in a local concert hall in the city (B,D)
Day 6, Monday June 21: Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer back to Montreal airport for your flight back to the West Coast (B)
