The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Thursday April 22: Overnight Flight
After a rehearsal at the airport hotel you will prepare to depart from the United States.
Day 2, Friday April 23: Reykjavik
Upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport, your Tour Manager will be waiting for you just beyond the luggage belt in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your company logo or group name, as provided to Iceland Travel prior to your trip. After breakfast, explore the Viking Ship “The Icelander” and put on some Viking costumes and take pictures.Embark on a captivating Reykjavik city tour where you'll discover the charm of Iceland’s vibrant capital. This tour takes you through the heart of Reykjavik, showcasing its unique blend of modernity and tradition. You’ll marvel at the distinctive architecture, from the striking Hallgrímskirkja Church. The bustling city centre is alive with energy, offering a mix of contemporary art, local boutiques, and cozy cafés. Reykjavik’s Old Harbour area is a highlight, stroll along the waterfront, enjoy the views of the bay and the distant mountain. Dinner together tonight at Sjávargrillið, nestled along Skólavörðustígur on the way to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja, stands as one of Reykjavík's most beloved dining destinations. Day 3, Saturday April 24: Reykjavik
Embark on an enchanting journey through Iceland’s most renowned natural wonders with a private Golden Circle tour. Accompanied by your personal driver-guide, immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of this iconic route while enjoying the highest level of comfort and personalized service. Discover the awe-inspiring Gullfoss Waterfall, where cascading glacial waters create a mesmerizing spectacle. Experience the power of nature at the Geysir Geothermal Area, home to Strokkur, which erupts dramatically every few minutes. Finally, step into the historic and geological wonder of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia meet, and where Iceland’s parliament was founded over a millennium ago. Day 4, Sunday April 25: Galway
As your journey in Iceland comes to an end, your driver or guide will meet you at the designated bus stop or Hotel lobby in Reykjavik. They will assist you with your luggage and ensure a smooth departure.Travel to Ireland. Céad Míle Fáilte! arrive Shannon, Ireland, and begin your journey through the Emerald Isle with a scenic drive to Galway, taking in your first views of Ireland’s majestic countryside. Along the way, visit Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciarán in the mid-6th century on the eastern bank of the River Shannon. This remarkable monastic site features the ruins of a cathedral, seven churches dating from the 10th to 13th centuries, two round towers, three high crosses, and the largest collection of Early Christian graveslabs in Western Europe. Highlights from the site, including original high crosses and select graveslabs, are on display in the visitor center. (B,D)
Day 5, Monday April 26: Galway
Today, journey through the stunning Connemara region, a land of lakes and rivers, bogs and mountains, where small villages still speak Gaelic and the landscape seems little changed since the dawn of time. Visit Glengowla, a working sheep farm tended by the Geoghegan family for generations, where the sheepdogs are an essential part of farm life. Continue to Kylemore Abbey, where the Benedictine Community established a world-renowned boarding school for girls and carefully restored the Abbey, Gothic Church, and Victorian Walled Garden to their former glory. Here, you may have your second informal impromptu performance in the Abbey (pending approval), surrounded by breathtaking architecture and history. This afternoon, return to Galway to soak in the lively atmosphere of the city, followed by a relaxing dinner together at a local pub. (B,D)
Day 6, Tuesday April 27: Kilkenny
Visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most iconic sights, with paved pathways offering breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands. Then enjoy a scenic 20-minute ferry crossing from Kilimer to Tarbert across the Shannon Estuary, a relaxing journey that may even include glimpses of playful dolphins.Continue to the Rock of Cashel, the historic seat of kings and medieval bishops for 900 years, where Brian Ború was crowned King of Munster in 977. Enjoy dinner together tonight. (B,D)
Day 7, Wednesday April 28: Kilkenny
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out with your coach and driver-guide. Visit Kilkenny Castle at your own pace, a historic site dating back to the 12th century with the first stone castle built in 1260. Join a local guide for a walking tour. This afternoon, rehearse for your next concert which will take place at a local venue as part of a joint performance with a local ensemble (pending approval). (B,D)
Day 8, Thursday April 29: Dublin
After breakfast at the hotel, travel with your coach and driver-guide to Glendalough, a serene monastic site founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Wander among the Round Tower, cathedral, stone churches, and decorated crosses set against stunning natural scenery. If Waterford is a priority, we can visit it instead. In the afternoon, enjoy a city orientation in Dublin, seeing Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and strolling along Grafton Street. The evening is free to explore on your own. (B)
Day 9, Friday April 30: Dublin
Today in Dublin, you will explore the legendary Book of Kells with its new immersive digital experience at Trinity College Library, bringing to life the exquisite Latin texts of the four Gospels, carefully decorated by Irish monks around the year 800 AD. Please note that the Old Library at Trinity College is currently undergoing restoration and closed to the public. Afterward, enjoy a visit to Christ Church Cathedral, where you'll perform for the final time this tour during their lunchtime concert series (subject to confirmation). The day concludes with a lively dinner at the Merry Plough Boys, featuring traditional Celtic music, song and dance. (B,D)
Day 10, Saturday May 1: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
