Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday June 4: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Saturday June 5: Berlin
Willkommen! Meet your Tour Manager and head into Berlin, stopping for lunch on your own, along the way. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, explore the city and then have dinner together in a restaurant. (B,D)
Day 3, Sunday June 6: Berlin
This morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour to view the significant attractions in Germany's capital city, including a portion of the famous Berlin Wall, the somber Holocaust Memorial, Potsdamer Platz, a historic square in the center of the city, the Reichstag, the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church and Checkpoint Charlie, the famous crossing between East and West Berlin and an enduring symbol of the Cold War. Later, transfer to the first venue to set up and rehearse. This evening, perform your First concert in Berlin at a local venue such as Heilig Kreuz-Kirche. Dinner will be together in a restaurant. Day 4, Monday June 7: Leipzig
After breakfast, depart for Leipzig, long celebrated as the city of Johann Sebastian Bach. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour featuring St. Thomas Church, where Bach served as cantor, and the surrounding historic quarter. Visit the Bach Museum to gain deeper insight into the composer’s life and legacy. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Leipzig’s charming cafés and pedestrian streets. (B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday June 8: Leipzig
Visit the Mendelssohn House, filled with personal artifacts and interactive exhibits, then continue to the Gewandhaus, home to one of Europe’s oldest orchestras, for a guided visit or optional workshop. In the afternoon, join a workshop with the MDR Choir, Leipzig’s professional broadcast choir, renowned for classical and contemporary performances. End the day with a performance at the Opera or Gewandhaus Concert Hall, depending on availability. Dinner on your own this evening.
Day 6, Wednesday June 9: Dresden
Travel to the city of Dresden, often called the “Florence on the Elbe” for its magnificent Baroque architecture. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided visit to the Zwinger Palace, one of Germany’s most celebrated Baroque landmarks, originally built in the early 18th century as a royal palace and festival ground for the Saxon court. Today the grand complex features ornate pavilions, sweeping galleries, fountains, and beautifully landscaped courtyards, and houses several important museums. Continue with a stroll along Brühl's Terrace, the elegant promenade overlooking the Elbe River. After checking into your hotel, enjoy the evening at leisure with the option to attend a performance at the renowned Semperoper, depending on availability. (B, D).
Day 7, Thursday June 10: Dresden
This morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Dresden with a licensed English-speaking guide, where you'll explore the city's historic landmarks and cultural highlights. The tour includes visiting the magnificent Semperoper, one of Europe's most famous opera houses. In the afternoon, rehearse and then have your second performance at Martin Luther Kirche or St. Paulus Church os similar in Dresden, where you'll enjoy an exceptional musical performance. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner in a local restaurant, savoring traditional cuisine in the heart of Dresden. (B,D)
Day 8, Friday June 11: Prague
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before checking out and departing for Prague. Enjoy lunch independently along the way, taking the opportunity to sample local cuisine or relax in a charming café. After a scenic journey, you'll arrive in Prague and check into your hotel, where you can unwind and prepare for the evening's activities. In the late afternoon, embark on a picturesque Vltava River Cruise, offering stunning views of Prague's iconic landmarks, including Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. The cruise is a relaxing way to enjoy the city's beauty before your free evening to explore or dine at leisure. (B,D)
Day 9, Saturday June 12: Prague
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before beginning a guided sightseeing tour of Prague Castle and the charming Lesser Town, two of the city’s most historic and atmospheric districts. Wander through grand courtyards, admire St. Vitus Cathedral, and take in sweeping views over the Vltava River. In the afternoon, there will be time for a rehearsal, followed by a concert in one of Prague’s beautiful venues, such as Hlahol Hall or Ladvi Culture House. Both locations are known for their exceptional acoustics and create a memorable setting for performers and audiences alike.Conclude the day with a delightful farewell dinner at a local restaurant, where you can savor authentic Czech cuisine accompanied by Roma music, creating a warm and festive atmosphere to reflect on the day’s experiences.
Day 10, Sunday June 13: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
