Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Sunday June 13: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Monday June 14: Rome
Arrive in the capital of Italy (and all of Ancient Rome!) and meet your tour manager before transferring to your hotel. Begin your exploration of the city with a brief orientation tour with your tour manager, before a welcome dinner together (D)
Day 3, Tuesday June 15: Rome
This morning dive back into the Eternal City of Rome, Italy's breathtaking capital and where all paths lead! Built on seven hills, Rome is renowned for its history, architecture, art, culture, culinary delights and exquisite shopping. A local guide will accompany you through the Vatican Museums to see the Sistine Chapel and magnificent Raphael rooms this morning. Continue to St. Peter's Basilica, the largest and most prominent church of the Catholic faith. Stroll across the Piazza San Pietro towards the dome, designed by Michelangelo and almost as large as that of the Pantheon. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure around the Piazza navona, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain and tonight, have dinner together in a restaurant. Afterwards, perhaps enjoy a sampling of some unique flavors of gelato! (B,D)
Day 4, Wednesday June 16: Rome
Today, enjoy panoramic city sightseeing of Rome with a local guide including the Circus Maximus, the Imperial Forum, the Pantheon, and the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele (Rome's "Wedding Cake monument"). Entrance is included to the Colosseum. Imagine the bloody battles that once took place in this awe-inspiring structure and marvel at the nearby richly decorated Arch of Constantine! More than just a monument, this arch marks the end of pagan Rome and the beginning of Christian Europe. Tonight perform your first concert at the liberal and welcoming Church of St Paul Within the Walls (B,D)
Day 5, Thursday June 17: Munich Area
Check out of the hotel this morning and travel to Tuscany, one of the most famous regions of the world. En route visit the beautiful ancient hilltop city of Orvieto. Continue to your hotel in the pretty spa town of Montecatini, just a short drive from Florence (B,D)
Day 6, Friday June 18: Munich Area
Today depart to spent the day in the romantic city of Florence. Visit the famous Accademia gallery and view the iconic Michaelangelo's David sculpture, before watching the sun go down from the Boboli Gardens. Return to Montecatini in time for dinner (B,D)
Day 7, Saturday June 19: Munich Area
This morning visit the city of Lucca, and pay tribute to the composer Puccini whose birthplace is now a museum. Later today perform your next concert of the tour in the Auditorium Monte di Lucca! Dinner will be together in a restaurant. (B,D)
Day 8, Sunday June 20: Venice Mainland
This morning depart from Tuscany towards the northeast and our final stop on the tour, the iconic maritime city of Venice. Built on 118 island with 150 canals, the reality of Venice surpasses anything one can conjur up in the imagination! Take a guided sightseeing tour of the heart of the city inlcuding views of St Marks square, the Grand Canal and Vivaldi's Pieta church. Later transfer to your final hotel for the tour on the mainland, in time for dinner together (B,D)
Day 9, Monday June 21: Venice Mainland
Continue to enjoy Venice today: the best way to discover the city is simply to 'get lost' in the pretty squares and alleyways of this unique city. Later this afternoon, transfer to a venue such as the Laguna Jazz Club before a farewell dinner together in a restaurant. (B,D)
Day 10, Tuesday June 22: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
