Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Monday June 22: Overnight Flight
Departure from JFK airport for Edinburgh.
Day 2, Tuesday June 23: Edinburgh
Welcome to Edinburgh! Meet your Encore Tour Manager at the airport and transfer to Stirling Castle for a journey into Scottish history and its independence. Later, continue to the hotel and check in. Have some time to freshen up before having a welcome dinner together this evening in a local restaurant. Day 3, Wednesday June 24: Edinburgh
Enjoy exploring the historic Old Town with your tour manager including the Royal Mile and a visit to Holyroodhouse – home to the King when he visits Edinburgh – and location of much of Scottish royal history. Make your way to the beautiful historic cathedral of St Giles where you will perform your first concert. Afterwards enjoy some whisky tasting at the fabulous Johnny Walker Whisky Experience. Evening at leisure to explore Edinburgh on your own. (B)
Day 4, Thursday June 25: Loch Ness
Today you will enjoy a spectacular journey through quintessential Scottish countryside, over heather-clad moorlands and alongside pristine crystal-clear lochs, all the way to Loch Ness. Enjoy a short cruise on the Loch and the spectacular views from the imposing ruins of Urquhart Castle, and visit Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Before heading to your hotel, enjoy a very special musically themed whisky tasting with your host Bruce, one of the country's finest fiddlers! Dinner will be at your hotel in the Inverness area. (B)
Day 5, Friday June 26: Glasgow
Leaving the Scottish Highlands behind you, you will travel southward straight to Glasgow. Discover downtown Glasgow with your tour manager and enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure in Glasgow. (B)
Day 6, Saturday June 27: Glasgow
Enjoy a day and an evening at leisure to explore Glasgow on your own. (B)
Day 7, Sunday June 28: Chester
You leave Glasgow today for a beautiful journey southward through the beautiful landscapes of Cumbria, and Lancashire all the way to Chester, a beautiful medieval Town with a rich history. Make your way to the beautiful historic Chester cathedral where you will perform your second concert. Afterwards meet your local guide and embark on a captivating journey through 2,000 years of history, taking in all the main sites along the way, including the Rows, the Walls, the River, the famous Eastgate Clock and the Cathedral. Evening at leisure to explore Chester on your own. (B) Concert #
Day 8, Monday June 29: Cardiff
You will leave Chester after breakfast and head to Cardiff, the capital of Wales and the nation’s largest and most vibrant city. After dropping your bags at the hotel head to Cardiff Castle, for the visit of a truly remarkable site with a history that spans over 2000 years. Enjoy a guided tour of its amazingly lavish and opulent interiors, where each breathtaking room is rich with murals, stained glass, gilding and superb craftsmanship. Afterwards prepare for your final concert. Meet the local Male Voice Choir who will partner with you this evening for an assuredly fantastic joint concert for an enthusiastic, choir music savvy, Cardiff audience. After the concert, celebrate this extraordinary experience with your Welsh singing partners on a drinks’ reception with refreshments in a private room in a local pub. (B)
Day 9, Tuesday June 30: London
Leaving Cardiff behind, you will travel eastward towards Wiltshire and the Salisbury Plain, where you will visit Stonehenge, one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe. Enjoy your lunch break at the medieval Salisbury. Visit the delightful market square, walk along the beautiful traditional shopping streets, and see the magnificent Early English Gothic Cathedral. before travelling on to London, today’s final destination. After checking in at your hotel, enjoy a free evening in London. (B)
Day 10, Wednesday July 1: London
In the morning meet your local London blue badge guide for a guided tour taking in all the beauty, the pageantry and the wonder of London. You will see all the iconic sites, including Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the Household Cavalry, Whitehall, the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, as well as the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. In the afternoon relax and enjoy a quintessentially British experience: a Champagne Afternoon Tea in a prestigious venue. In the evening see a smashing West End musical, such as The Lion King, Les Misérables, Wicked or Mamma Mia!
Day 11, Thursday July 2: London
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore London on your own. In the evening head to a farewell dinner cruise on the Thames. After being greeted on board with a glass of prosecco, enjoy a delicious 4-course dinner, as you sail along the River Thames, past some of London’s most iconic landmarks, and celebrate the end of your concert tour with some after-dinner dancing. Day 12, Friday July 3: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
