Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Tuesday July 7: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Wednesday July 8: Llangollen
Croeso y Cymru, Welcome to Wales! On arrival at Manchester, meet your tour manager and transfer to the beautiful Welsh Victorian town of Llangollen, your base for the next few days. This evening take dinner together, and you'll have the chance to meet other participating Eisteddfodd groups (D)
Day 3, Thursday July 9: Llangollen
Today is the Childrens Folk Song Category competition at the Eistedfodd Llangollen Music Festival! You'll also have the opportunity to ride on the historically preserved Llangollen Railway: if you're lucky your train may be hauled by a steam engine from the early 20th Century! Enjoy dinner together tonight at your hotel. (B)
Day 4, Friday July 10: Llangollen
Today sees the Adult Folk Song and Open Categories at the Eistedfodd Llangollen Music Festival, as well as taking in the other performances happening in the Festival today. Enjoy dinner together tonight at your hotel. (B,D)
Day 5, Saturday July 11: Llangollen
Today features both the Female choir and the Youth Choir Categoies at the Eistedfodd Llangollen Music Festival. When not performing, support your fellow perfomers as part of the audience! Enjoy dinner together tonight at your hotel. (B)
Day 6, Sunday July 12: Liverpool
Check out of your Welsh hotel and head over the border into the English Marches region. Our first stop today is a step back in time at the Blists Hill Victorian museum in Telford: you'll be immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of Victorian life and get a glimpse of a new world shaped by industry, including visiting Victorian shops and cottages, meeting craftspeople demonstrating their trades and tasting authentic food in this entire recreated town. Continue to the City of Chester, and walk the medieval walls with your tour manager, before continuing to your hotel in time for dinner (B,D)
Day 7, Monday July 13: Liverpool
After breakfast take a tour of the city of Liverpool including the Albert Dock and famous Liver Building, before exploring the city's more recent musical history with a visit to the Beatles Story Museum to discover how four normal 'lads from Liverpool' became the most successful band ever. Later perform your final tour concert: this could be in a venue such as Chester Cathedral, or as a partnership event with a local school or music organization, before a shared dinner together to celebrate the end of your tour (B,D)
Day 8, Tuesday July 14: Departure
After breakfast transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States.
