Itinerary

Day 1, Monday June 15: New Orleans

Arrive in New Orleans under own arrangement, and meet your Encore Tour Manager at your hotel before embarking on an immersive journey through the historic French Quarter. Explore the Vieux Carré with one of the city's best guides, from the bustling Mississippi River to the charming hidden courtyards. Along the way, uncover the fascinating history of Creole culture, colonial influences, and legendary figures like the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte. Key stops include the vibrant French Market, the storied Jean Lafitte Blacksmith Shop, the iconic Jackson Square, and the breathtaking Saint Louis Cathedral. After the tour, check into your hotel and take some time to unwind before heading to Tujague's Restaurant, one of New Orleans' oldest and most beloved Creole dining establishments, for a memorable dinner.

Day 2, Tuesday June 16: New Orleans

After breakfast at your hotel, visit the city's Garden District, a picturesque neighborhood known for its historic mansions, charming cafés, and vibrant atmosphere. Enjoy free time in the Garden District this afternoon or perhaps wander through the winding streets of New Orleans French Quarter. Later this afyternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the Orpheum Theater that ends with a 30 minute private concert of string chamber music or Operatic Arias. The rest of the day is yours to further explore. Dinner is under own arrangement this evening. (B,D)

Day 3, Wednesday June 17: New Orleans

Start the day with an unforgettable Swamp Tour, where you'll glide through Louisiana's mysterious bayous, spotting wildlife like alligators, herons, and turtles while learning about the region's unique ecosystem and Cajun heritage. After this immersive adventure, enjoy a fun and festive crawfish boil on your own section of the lively dock. Your crawfish boil is complete with refreshing drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. Return to the city for free time before gathering together again for a Steamboat Natchez Dinner Jazz Cruise, where you'll enjoy a delightful meal while drifting along the mighty Mississippi River. This dinner cruise features breathtaking river views, and the timeless charm of one of the last authentic steamboats in the city. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday June 18: New Orleans

Begin the day with a visit to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, where you'll explore the rich history and evolution of jazz through interactive exhibits, rare artifacts, and engaging performances that celebrate the city's musical legacy. Next, visit the WWII Museum, New Orleans most visited attraction/. Afterward, enjoy some leisure time to shop at the Historic French Market, the city's oldest public marketplace, offering everything from local crafts and souvenirs to delicious regional treats. In the afternoon, experience an unforgettable musical tradition with a visit to Preservation Hall, a legendary venue dedicated to preserving and promoting authentic New Orleans jazz. As the day winds down, indulge in a lively dinner at Arnaud's Jazz Bistro enjoying the infectious energy of live Jazz music. The fun continues as you return to your hotel as part of your very own second line parade complete with musicians and street performers! (B,D)

Day 5, Friday June 19: Departure

Start the final day of your New Orleans adventure with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, fueling up for a morning of history and reflection. Your Encore Tour Manager will accompany the group throughout the day's activities, with transportation included for a seamless experience. Begin with a tour and visit to Congo Square at Louis Armstrong Park, a historic and culturally significant site where African slaves once gathered to practice pure West African religious rituals and musical traditions—the only place in North America where this was permitted. Considered the birthplace of New Orleans music, Congo Square played a vital role in shaping jazz, blues, and so much of the world's most beloved music. After this inspiring visit, it's time to say your farewell to New Orleans as all travelers make their way home with so many wonderful memories of the culture, cuisine, and music of this great city!
