Itinerary

Day 1, Saturday February 14: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Sunday February 15: Salzburg

Welcome to Salzburg, one of the most picturesque of all European cities! During the Holy Empire, it was called the northern Rome, due to the importance of the Prince Archbishops and the Baroque. The city's reputation is based on a living musical tradition being the city of Mozart. Its beauty and vibrant musical life have made it one of Europe's foremost cultural cities. Enjoy dinner in a restaurant this evening before turning in for a good night's sleep! (D)

Day 3, Monday February 16: Salzburg

This morning, after breakfast enjoy a half-day walking tour of Salzburg featuring the Mozartplatz, the cathedral, the Pegasus Fountain,the Mirabell Gardens, and the Sound of Music Churchyard. You also visit Mozart's Birthplace before taking the funicular up to the fortress that dominates the city. Dinner will be in a local restaurant this evening. (B,D)

Day 4, Tuesday February 17: Salzburg

Today's visit brings you toward the mountains to learn where Salzburg "Salt Town", gains its name. the Salt Mines at nearby Hallein. You will journey deep beneath the ground to learn more about how this precious mineral deeply influenced Salzburg’s history. Enjoy a fun interactive tour featuring a ride down the long wooden slides the miners used and traverse a dark lake deep inside the mountain mine. Later, you will have your first performance of the tour, showcasing the talent and dedication of your group. This will be a memorable highlight, adding a vibrant cultural touch to your exploration.

Day 5, Wednesday February 18: Vienna

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and journey east to the Austrian capital of Vienna, the historical center of the musical world and a must-visit for any young musician. En route, stop in the town of Melk to visit the wonderful Abbey where you will have an informal singing opportunity. Upon arrival in Vienna, check into your hotel and enjoy dinner together.

Day 6, Thursday February 19: Vienna

Today offers a unique and enriching experience as you participate in a special workshop led by the esteemed director of the Vienna Boys Choir. Then discover why Vienna is the historical center of the musical world and a must-visit for any young musician! Being a UNESCO heritage city, Vienna's historic centre is rich in architectural wonders from the great Stephansdom and Baroque castles to the 19th century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks. Day 7, Friday February 20: Vienna

Today's highlight will be your exchange performance with a local school. After your joint concert, enjoy time to visit and get to know your new Austrian friends and have time for lunch on your own. This afternoon you have time to explore Vienna with your Tour Manager. Dinner will be together tonight (B,D)

Day 8, Saturday February 21: Vienna

Today you will visit Eisenstadt, home of Joseph Haydn to enjoy a guided tour through the Esterhazy Palace including the 17th century 'Haydnsaal' with its wonderful acoustics. Here you will have your final informal singing opportunity in the Haydnsaal. Entrance is also included to the Haydn Mausoleum at the Haydnkirche. Return to Vienna for a traditional Heurigen (farewell) dinner(B,D)

Day 9, Sunday February 22: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States.
