Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday July 13: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Tuesday July 14: Glasgow

Arrive in Glasgow and meet your Tour Manager for the transfer into the city. Discover Glasgow on a short walking tour of the city with a local guide, including a visit to Glasgow Cathedral. Then, check in to the Clayton Hotel Glasgow, the starting point for our fabulous musical and cultural journey together!. (D)

Day 3, Wednesday July 15: Oban

After our first Scottish breakfast, we board our private coach and head north for the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. At Tarbet, we exchanged coaches for boats and enjoyed a cruise around the famous Loch. We'll head north and then to the west coast before arriving in lovely Oban, our home for the next two nights. Your first rehearsal and concert performance at St John's Cathedral will be here. After the performance, enjoy a 3-course dinner in a local restaurant in Oban. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday July 16: Oban

Our day starts with a picturesque ferry ride to the beautiful Isle of Mull. We will traverse the island as we head to Fionnphort and a short ferry to the famed island of Iona, to visit the Abbey. Enjoy the tiny yet ever-so-beautiful Chapel of St. Columba. Return by ferry for an evening to explore Oban at your leisure.

Day 5, Friday July 17: Aviemore

Take in stunning scenery as you travel along the shores of Loch Linnhe, stopping for a visit in Glencoe and on to Fort William. Continue through the Highlands to Loch Ness and visit Urquhart Castle. Then, travel to Aviemore to check into your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a 3-course dinner at the hotel. (B,D)

Day 6, Saturday July 18: Aviemore

A memorable Highlands experience awaits you today. You will start by hopping aboard the Strathspey Steam Train in Aviemore for an unforgettable ride with spectacular views, past heather-clad moors and woodland, all the way to Broomhill. Then, travel along the Speyside, past picture-perfect little Scottish villages, to Knockando, where you will discover the warm-hearted spirit of Speyside on a visit to Cardhu Distillery. After a full-sensory, field-to-glass tour, enjoy a tutored whisky tasting. Your Highlands experience will culminate with visiting the glorious Balmoral Castle, the treasured summer retreat for the Royal Family, and His Majesty King Charles III—dinner at the hotel.

Day 7, Sunday July 19: Edinburgh

Leaving Aviemore, we head south toward Edinburgh through the Cairngorms National Park and via a stop to visit the magnificent Stirling Castle, where you'll have your second concert performance. Then head to Edinburgh for check-in at the Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket Hotel, the base for your last three nights in Scotland. In the evening, enjoy dinner in a local restaurant in Edinburgh. (B,D)

Day 8, Monday July 20: Edinburgh

Today begins with a guided tour of the fascinating Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th-century chapel prominently featured in the 2003 novel The DaVinci Code. It is said that the visit to Rosslyn even inspired some lines in Robert Burns's famous poem, Tam O'Shanter. Return to Edinburgh for a walking tour of the Old Town and entrance to Edinburgh Castle.

Day 9, Tuesday July 21: Edinburgh

The morning is free to explore Edinburgh's many sights and sounds at your leisure. Later, perform a concert at a venue such as St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile. Enjoy a farewell dinner this evening to share your favorite memories of a great trip!
