Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Thursday June 25: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States for your overnight flight to Korea
Day 2, Friday June 26: Seoul
Arrive in Korea in the late afternoon and meet your tour managers, before transferring to your hotel in time for dinner together (D)
Day 3, Saturday June 27: Seoul
After breakfast this morning take a guided tour to the Korea War Memorial complex, which gives you a good insight into the history of the Korea conflict in the 1950s, which led to the division of the two Koreas as they are today. The musuem stands as a memorial to the fallen and an initiative for peace and the hoped-for reunification of Korea. After a quick lunch stop visit the Gugak Center and experience a performance of traditional Korean music and dance. Later transfer to your first concert venue for a rehearsal. After an early dinner perform your first concert, which could be a collaboration concert in Yedarm Church (B,L,D)
Day 4, Sunday June 28: Daegu
After breakfast, explore the Insa-Dong district of Seoul, with its traditional stores and cafes. After an early lunch, depart for the calming experience of a traditional temple stay for the night. Here you'll learn the basics of meditation and Buddhist martial art, and take part in temple activities. Dinner is a communal affair at the temple itself (B,L,D)
Day 5, Monday June 29: Busan
Continue your temple stay participating in the ritual temple sweeping before lunch. Continue to the city of Gimhae to perform your next concert of the tour in the West Gimhae Concert Hall, followed by dinner. After dinner continue to the coastal city of Busan and check into your hotel (B,L,D)
Day 6, Tuesday June 30: Busan
After breakfast pay your respects to fallen US and international military at the UN Cemetery and memorial. Later take a trip across the bay to Amnam park on the spectacular Songdo Cable Car. After lunch in the Jalgalchi Market or Songdo itself, spend a little time on the beach or walk to the APEC park in Haeundae. Today you'll perform your next concert in a venue such as the Haeundae Culture Center before a later dinner and return to your hotel (B,L,D)
Day 7, Wednesday July 1: Seoul
This morning depart to visit the Daereungwon Tomb Complex and Cheonmachong Tomb, famous sites of pilgrimage for Korean Buddhists. Continue your return journey to the capital, arriving in time for an early dinner followed by the famous Nanta show, a hilarious and entertaining percussion and rhythm spectacular based on cooking (B,L,D)
Day 8, Thursday July 2: Seoul
Today, after experiencing the 10am Changing of the Guard Ceremony, take a tour of the breathtaking Geongbokgung Palace, located in the heart of Seoul, and experience the traditional Hanbok Korean traditional dress! This afternoon spend some 'down time in one of Seoul's extensive parks such as Seoul Forest or Namsan Park, before dinner together in a local restaurant (B,L,D)
Day 9, Friday July 3: Seoul
After breakfast today it's time to become part of one of the pop phenomena of the 21st Century as you partciipate in a KPOP song and dance workshop. Learn the latest moves, trends and catchy songs that fuel a multi-million dollar industry and make megastars out of young Korean singers. After lunch in the vibrant Gwangjang market, depart for your concert venue to rehearse and perform your final concert in a concert hall in the city, in conjunction with one of Korea's finest youth choirs, before a farewell dinner to celebrate your concert tour (B,L,D)
Day 10, Saturday July 4: Departure
After breakfast check out of your hotel and store your luggage. Visit the Itseon-Dong district, with its pretty alleyways of traditional Korean stores, cafes and bakeries, and restaurants. Later transfer to the airport for your return flight to the United States, including a stop-over in San Fransisco (B)
