Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Saturday June 20: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Sunday June 21: Vienna
Arrive at Vienna and transfer to your city center hotel. Your Tour Manager will lead you on a brief orientation tour of the area, before you take dinner together. (B,D)
Day 3, Monday June 22: Vienna
Vienna is the historical center of the musical world and as a UNESCO heritage city, rich in architectural wonders from the great Stephansdom Cathedral and Baroque castles to the 19th century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks. Your morning panoramic guided tour will include the highlights of the city including the Stephansdom, Vienna Opera and Hofburg Palace. In the afternoon, get ready for your rehearsal and perform your first concert at a local concert hall, such as the MuTh hall, the rehearsal home of the Vienna Boys Choir. End your day with a dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 4, Tuesday June 23: Vienna
This morning, travel the short distance outside Vienna to Eisenstadt, home for many years to the composerJoseph Haydn, to enjoy a guided tour through the Esterházy Palace including the 17th century 'Haydnsaal' with its wonderful acoustics, where Haydn himself conducted! Entrance is also included to the Haydn Mausoleum at the Haydnkirche where the great composer rests. Return to the city for dinner and a possible independent visit to the Prater amusement park (B,D)
Day 5, Wednesday June 24: Prague
Depart Vienna this morning and enjoy a picturesque drive through the countryside on the way to Prague. Stop in the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Continue to Prague where you will check-in to your hotel and become acquainted with the city with your tour manager. (B,D)
Day 6, Thursday June 25: Prague
After breakfast take a guided sightseeing tour of historic Prague on foot (the only way to experience this wonderful ancient city!) beginning with the Castle district. Continue past the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral as you make your way to the Old Town, where you'll cross the famous Charles Bridge. This afternoon depart for one of the nearby towns to perform your next concert in a venue such as the Jablonec Theater, before taking dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 7, Friday June 26: Prague
Today, enjoy a tour of the Estates Theater, which is one of the most beautiful historic theaters in Europe, where Mozart himself conducted the world premiere of Don Giovanni in 1787. Tonight perform your final concert of the tour at a central venue such as the Church of St Simon and Juda, a former church now the summer venue of the Czech Philharmonic. Celebrate your successful tour with a farewell dinner cruise on the river Vltava, as the sun sets behind the spectacular castle! (B,D)
Day 8, Saturday June 27: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
