Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Monday June 2: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Tuesday June 3: Montecatini
Benvenuti in Italia! Arrive in Florence and meet your Tour Manager at the airport. Start your tour by visiting Lucca, birthplace of Puccini. Then transfer to nearby Montecatini to check in to your hotel and enjoy your first dinner together on tour. (D)
Day 3, Wednesday June 4: Montecatini
After breakfast, make the short journey to Florence where you will meet a local guide for a walking tour taking in Santa Croce, the Duomo and Ghiberti's famous Baptistry Doors. You will also visit the Accademia to see Michaelangelo's "David." Spend some free time exploring Florence and immersing yourself in the local culture, perhaps with a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio bridge or a taste of gelato at Vivoli's. Enjoy dinner this evening together. (B,D)
Day 4, Thursday June 5: Montecatini
After breakfas depart for the beautiful Tuscan gems of San Gimignano and Siena. Enjoy free time for independent sightseeing and lunch. Later today, rehearse and set up for your debut concert which will take place after dinner at a local venue such as the Terme Tettuccio in Montecatini, a perfect venue for lighter repertoire! (B,D)
Day 5, Friday June 6: Rome
After breakfast check out of your hotel and depart Tuscany for the stunning drive to Assisi, the birthplace of Saint Francis, and major Christian pilgrimage site. Spend some time exploring the Basilica, before giving a recital in this amazing building. Continue on to Rome, the "Eternal City" and have dinner together. (B,D)
Day 6, Saturday June 7: Rome
Today, enjoy the sights of ancient Rome on a panoramic guided tour of the city. Highlights include: The Circus Maximus, The Baths of Caracalla, and the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele (Rome's "Wedding Cake monument'). Next, visit the famous ancient Roman Forum and the Colosseum, with entrances included. Imagine the roar of spectators as they cheered on gladiators battling one another both on the ground and on water! This afternoon, assemble for rehearsal and dinner prior to your third concert. Tonight, perform a full evening concert at a local church venue. (B,D)
Day 7, Sunday June 8: Rome
This morning, enjoy a guided visit of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. In the afternoon return to St. Peter's to sing at the daily liturgy, an experience that will live long in the memory! Round off your tour with a fun pizza-making workshop, and celebrate your successful tour by eating the finished pizza!. (B,D)
Day 8, Monday June 9: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
