Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Thursday June 12: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Friday June 13: Vienna
Meet your Encore Tour Manager at the airport this morning and transfer to your centrally located hotel in Vienna! En route, stop in Zentralfriedhof where you can visit the graves of many famous musicians and composers. Continue on to your hotel and have time to relax and unpack before a special welcome Heurigen dinner with traditional folk music! (D)
Day 3, Saturday June 14: Vienna
After breakfast, provided each morning of your tour, journey to Eisenstadt, home of Joseph Haydn. Enjoy a guided tour through the Haydn Mausoleum at Bergkirche, then you will visit Esterházy Palace. Included is a visit to the 17th century "Haydnsaal" with its wonderful acoustics. An informal performance may be possible. Tonight perform at a local venue! Transfer back to Vienna for the overnight. Day 4, Sunday June 15: Vienna
Set off today to explore the musically rich city of Vienna with local guides in the morning. You'll see Vienna's famous sites, including entrance to the Schönbrunn Palace, to gain an understanding as to why this city is considered the City of Music. Then this afternoon you have a workshop with one of the members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra! After, enjoy a group dinner. (B,D)
Day 5, Monday June 16: Bratislava
This morning head to Bratislava the capital of Slovakia and the cultural, political and economic centre of the country. The history of the city has been strongly influenced by people of different nations and religions; it was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary, a part of the larger Hapsburg Monarchy territories and it has been home to many Slovak, Hungarian and German historical figures. Today you will have a guided tour and prepare for your second concert. Dinner will be together at a local restaurant after your performance. (B,D)
Day 6, Tuesday June 17: Prague
This morning, depart for Prague! Upon arrival, explore Prague with a local guide and see the highlights of this beautiful city . You will pass through the Castle district, the Lesser Town, on to Charles Bridge, through the Old Town and to the medieval Astronomical Clock. Arrive and check in to your hotel, and then enjoy dinner with your group on the Vltava River Cruise. (B,D)
Day 7, Wednesday June 18: Prague
This morning you will travel to Karlstejn Castle. Built in 14th century by Emperor Charles IV to safeguard the crown jewels and imperial regalia, this Gothic fortress offers stunning views of the Berounka Rive, richly decorated interiors, and a glimpse into medieval history. Return to Prague for dinner together
Day 8, Thursday June 19: Prague
This morning, explore the jewel of Central Europe on your own! Come together this afternoon to prepare for your final concert! Afterward, celebrate your successful concert tour to Austria & the Czech Republic with a farewell dinner cruise on the Vltava River.
Day 9, Friday June 20: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
