Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Saturday May 29: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Sunday May 30: London
Arrive London from your overnight flight or make your own way to join Camp 1 at your hotel. There is a welcome dinner tonight for all Camp 1 participants
Day 3, Monday May 31: London
This morning sees your first rehearsal of the Camp in a nearby venue. This afternoon take a panoramic tour of London taking in the Houses of Parliament and nearby Westminster Abbey. St James Park and Hyde Park. Dinner tonight is independent (B)
Day 4, Tuesday June 1: London
After this morning's rehearsal, spend time on London's South Bank of the Thames, with optional visits to Shakespeare's Globe, The London Eye wheel, the tastes and aromas of Borough Market, or the serene peace of Southwark Cathedral. This afternoon or evening (pending availability of clinician) you'll take part in a choral workshop with an eminent choral clinician from the English Cathedral tradition! Dinner tonight is independent (B)
Day 5, Wednesday June 2: London
This morning you'll rehearse once more, before paying a visit to Covent Garden: enjoy the many street performers here before visiting London's Royal Opera House for a behind-the-scenes tour, including backstage, costume workshops, ballet studios and much more! Conclude your visit with a traditional English Afternoon Tea! (B)
Day 6, Thursday June 3: London
This morning visit the most recognizable concert venue in London, the Royal Albert Hall, which plays host to the annual PRomenade concert series and many other spectaculars throughout the year. The rest of today is free for you to continue to explore London: you may wish to visit one of London's many wonderful museums or art galleries, nearly all of which are free of charge to visit! Later come together to rehearse and perform your Showcase Concert in a venue such as Holy Trinity Church in Sloane Square, before a farewell dinner tonight to celebrate your successful Chorale Camp (B,D)
Day 7, Friday June 4: Liverpool
Today we bid farewell to those participants not continuing to Camp 2. For those transferring to Liverpool, a coach trnasfer will be provided to your new hotel. Dinner tonight is independent (B)
Day 8, Saturday June 5: Liverpool
Today you'll be joined by arriving Campers to take part in Camp 2. A welcome dinner is provided tonight for all Campers (B,D)
Day 9, Sunday June 6: Liverpool
This morning sees your first rehearsal of the Rock'n'Roll Roots Camp. After the rehearsal begin your exploration of this historic city with a visit to the Museum of Liverpool and the Royal Albert Dock, both of which chart the city's important contribution to maritime History. This afternoon you'll discover how four boys from simple backgrounds became the 'greatest rock'n'roll band ever' at the Beatles Museum. Dinner tonight is independent (B)
Day 10, Monday June 7: Liverpool
After this morning's rehearsal, continue to discover the Beatles' influence over the city as you visit some of the locations featured in their songs: Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, and even their childhood homes. Dinner tonight is on your own (B)
Day 11, Tuesday June 8: Liverpool
This morning you'll rehearse once more, before making the short journey to nearby Manchester to find out how this city shaped many eras of British rock music history, from Britpop to the club music scene and everything in between. Later today or this evening you'll take part in a rock n roll masterclass with a local expert. (B)
Day 12, Wednesday June 9: London
Today after your final rehearsal visit the British Music Experience in Liverpool. This musuem presents the ultimate history of British Rock and Pop music, housed inside the famous former Cunard Shipping Line building. Tonight sees your Camp performance in a concert hall or possibly even a local church, before a farewell dinner to close Camp 2. (B,D)
Day 13, Thursday June 10: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States.
