Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday June 21: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Tuesday June 22: Vienna

Upon arrival in Europe this morning, your tour manager will meet you and transfer you into Austria's capital city Vienna, your home for the next two nights. Enjoy a welcome dinner together and a brief orientation of the local area with your tour manager. (B)

Day 3, Wednesday June 23: Vienna

Today you'll use the safe, clean and efficient Vienna public transit system to explore one of the world's most musical cities, Vienna, home to great symphonists and choral composers from Haydn through to Schoenberg: your exploration includes the wonderful St Stephen's Cathedral, where you'll be able to give a midday recital! Later after an independent dinner visit the wonderful interactive Haus der Musik, where you can learn more about the musical masters, and even try your hand at conducting the virtual Vienna Philharmonic! (B)

Day 4, Thursday June 24: Salzburg

This morning, board your bus and depart westward towards Salzburg, stopping at the town of Melk to visit the Abbey, one of the grandest religious structures North of the Vatican, where an impromptu performance may be possible in the spectacular Abbey chapel. Continue your journey to Salzburg, one of the most picturesque European cities - indeed, it is all of Europe in concentrated form with a castle, cathedral, squares, gardens, spires, and rivers. The city's reputation is based on a living musical tradition, the city of Mozart. Its beauty and vibrant musical life have made it one of Europe's foremost cultural cities. Before proceeding to your hotel, take a short orientation tour with your tour manager and visit Mozart's Birthplace Museum on the main shopping street of the city. Your main meal today is taken indepdendently (B)

Day 5, Friday June 25: Salzburg

After breakfast pay a visit to one of the region’s renowned salt mines, and discover all about the 'white gold' that made Salzburg such a wealthy city in centuries past. You'll take a cable car to the mine entrance, before descending into the mine on slides and then boarding a boat for a trip on an underground lake. This afternoon, take in the picturesque lakeside town of Hallstatt, nestled between majestic mountains. After an independent dinnert, perform a concert in the church at Hallstatt. (B)

Day 6, Saturday June 26: Prague

After breakfast check out and journey north towards the Czech Republic. Our first stop today is the beautiful medieval town of Cesky Krumlov. The city nestles on a bend in the Vltava river, itself an inspiration from one of the nation's greatest composers, Smetana. After a brief tour of the castle which towers over the city, continue your journey to the capital city Prague. Tonight experience the Vltava once more with a dinner cruise on the river as the city's buildings light up. (B, D)

Day 7, Sunday June 27: Prague

This morning use Prague's super-efficient Metro system to take a brief orientation tour of the Old Town area with your tour manager, exploring the side streets, souvenir shops and stunning architecture at every turn. Later perform your final concert of the tour in a venue such as St Nicholas Church on the Old Town Square or the Korunni Chapel. Round off your successful tour with a traditional folklore dinner with music and entertainment! (B, D)

Day 8, Monday June 28: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
