Greater Miami Youth Symphony - Spain

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Sunday March 19: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Monday March 20: Madrid

Benvenido a Espana! Your tour manager will meet you upon arrival and take you to your hotel in the Spanish capital city of Madrid to check-in. Start exploring on a guided sightseeing tour of the city's highlights, including the Gran Via and Plaza Mayor! Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner and tour orientation this evening before returning to your hotel for a good nights sleep! (D)

Day 3, Tuesday March 21: Madrid

This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Madrid and visit to the Prado Museum, one of the world's most famous! Have some free time for lunch and relax in the Retiro park. Today you could also participate in some community benefit activitiy such as performing in small groups for local senior residents. This evening, enjoy dinner together in a local restaurant! (B,D)

Day 4, Wednesday March 22: Madrid

This morning, transfer to Segovia and take a walking tour of the old town while visiting the cathedral and famous Royal Alcazar. Enjoy some free time for lunch on your own and to explore. This evening, perform your first concert at a local venue in the Madrid/El Escorial area, in aid of a local charity. Dinner tonight is in a local restaurant (B,D)

Day 5, Thursday March 23: Seville

Depart this morning and journey across the Sierra Nevada mountain range towards Andalucia. Today's first stop is the city of Cordoba, where you will have the chance to visit the famous Mezquita cathedral-mosque and explore the winding streets of the city. Later contnue to the city of Seville and check in to your hotel in time for dinner. (B,D)

Day 6, Friday March 24: Seville

Today explore the city, famous for its history, university, oranges and much more! See the many 12th Century buildings in the historic Santa Cruz district, including visits to the Cathedral and Royal Alcázar (fortress) and marvel at its interesting architecture and rich history. Take a boat trip on the Guadalquivir River or visit the futuristic Seta de Sevilla viewing platform. Tonight sees your next concert in a local venue such as the Theater at Puerto Santa Maria, before a late dinner together. (B,D)

Day 7, Saturday March 25: Granada

Depart this morning and journey towards the Moorish city of Granada. Stop en route in the stunning hilltop town of Ronda and visit the famous bull-ring. Later, on arrival in Granada, check in to your hotel and enjoy some relaxation time. This evening dinner will be together. (B, D)

Day 8, Sunday March 26: Granada

This morning, visit possibly the finest standing Moorish fortress in the world at El Alhambra! It is one of the greatest accomplishments of Islamic art and architecture; also included in your visit are the beautiful Generalife Gardens! In the afternoon, enjoy some free time and preparation for your final full performance which will take place at a local venue. Dinner will be together this evening. (B,D)

Day 9, Monday March 27: Granada

This morning is free to continue exploring the city, before another commnunity outreach activity this afternoon in the city. Later tonight enjoy a farewell dinner and Flamenco show to round off your successful tour. (B,D)

Day 10, Tuesday March 28: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
