Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Saturday April 15: Philadelphia

Depart for Philadelphia by private motor coach. This evening, gather for a welcome dinner before checking into your hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy free time to explore Reading Terminal Market or Philadelphia's vibrant downtown area. (D)

Day 2, Sunday April 16: Philadelphia

This morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour featuring many of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Elfreth's Alley, and the historic district. Continue to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a photo opportunity at the famous "Rocky Steps" and panoramic views of the city. This afternoon, participate in an exchange performance with a local school, or a clinic with a local clinician (pending availability). Tonight enjoy tickets to see a live performance in Philadelphia. Options include a classical or orchestral performance, a travelling Broadway play, or similar. (B,D)

Day 3, Monday April 17: Philadelphia

After breakfast, travel to the Hershey area to participate in the Music in the Parks Festival, one of the nation's most popular adjudicated events for school bands and orchestras. Perform for a panel of professional adjudicators and receive valuable educational feedback, ratings, and awards. The festival concludes with an awards ceremony celebrating participating ensembles. Following your performance, spend the remainder of the day enjoying Hersheypark, featuring thrilling roller coasters, family attractions, live entertainment, and Zoo America wildlife exhibits. Student groups from across the country participate in these annual music festivals, combining educational performance opportunities with a memorable day in the park. (B,D)

Day 4, Tuesday April 18: Departure

Following breakfast, visit Hershey's Chocolate World for an interactive chocolate-making experience and free time for shopping. Learn about Milton Hershey's legacy and the chocolate-making process before beginning the journey home. Depart on your drive home with lasting memories of outstanding performances, educational experiences, and time spent exploring two of Pennsylvania's most exciting destinations. (B)
