Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Sunday June 7: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Monday June 8: Prague

Welcome to Prague! Arrive and meet your Encore Tour Manager. There will be a special welcome dinner in a local restaurant this evening! (D)

Day 3, Tuesday June 9: Prague

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour this morning of the city's highlights, from the Castle to the Old Town! A local expert will show us the quaint Malá Strana (Czech for "Lesser Quarter," named for its location at the foot of Prague's ancient Castle), the graceful Charles Bridge, built during the 14th century, and the beautiful St Nicholas Square. In the afternoon, prepare for a band workshop with Col. Vaclav Blahunek to fine-tune your wind ensemble for the following performances.

Day 4, Wednesday June 10: Prague

Today is yours to have time to explore Prague's Old Town at your own pace. Perhaps visit Prague's historic Jewish Quarter or visit the Municipal House. This afternoon, rehearse for your first performances at Ladvi Culture House or Hlahol Hall.

Day 5, Thursday June 11: Prague

Today, you have time to explore Prague and buy gifts and souvenirs. You may want to visit Karlstejn Castle. Later this afternoon, you will have a cruise down the Vltava River.

Day 6, Friday June 12: Krakow

Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel to start your day. Check out and embark on a scenic journey to Krakow. Take some time for an independent lunch in the charming city of Olomouc. Arrive in Krakow and check into your comfortable accommodations. Relax and unwind with dinner at the hotel and explore the vibrant city. (B,D)

Day 7, Saturday June 13: Krakow

Begin your day with a guided sightseeing tour to view the façade of the spectacular Wawel Castle, one of the country's most important historic and cultural sites, and other important sights in Krakow such as the main square, one of Europe's largest! This afternoon, enjoy free time in beautiful Krakow before transferring to the venue to set up and rehearse. Your next concert performance will take place today at a local venue Arka Pana’s Church or local Culture Centre in Krakow or something similar. (B,D)

Day 8, Sunday June 14: Krakow

Today you will travel to Auschwitz. You will learn more about the tragedy of the European Holocaust today as you visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, now a heartbreaking memorial to the more than one million Jews who died here. Travel back to Krakow for a traditional folklore dinner. (B,D)

Day 9, Monday June 15: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
