Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday March 27: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Saturday March 28: Seville
Welcome to Spain! Meet your Encore Tour Manager and transfer to Seville for hotel check in. Enjoy an introductory walking tour of this beautiful city with your Tour Manager. Please note that pending theatre schedule, there is a possible visit and tour of Seville's Opera House, Teatro de la Maestranza. This evening, enjoy a special welcome dinner together at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 3, Sunday March 29: Seville
Located in the heart of Andalucia, Seville is the region's capital. On your guided sightseeing tour, discover the beautiful Royal alcazar. Today's tour will focus on the many operas that take place in this iconic Spainish City. See the outside of the Royal Tobacco Factory where many scenes from Bizet's Carmen take place, See Figaro's House and Rosina's balcony, and visit the Plaza Dona Elvira sight for scenes in Mozart's Don Giovanni. This morning, attend the St. Matthew's Passion at the Teatro La Maestranza. Enjoy free time this afternoon for lunch on your own before gathering at the Auditorio Monasterio De San Miguel for rehearsal for your first concert performance in Spain at 6:30pm! Celebrate your first performance with dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 4, Monday March 30: Granada
After breakfast at your hotel, depart for Granada. Along the way, stop in Cordoba for a visit to the Grand Mosque. After some free time for lunch, continue to the city of Ronda where you'll have your second concert performance at the Teatro Vicente Espinel at 6:30pm! After the performance, dine in a local restaurant before departing for Granada. Check in at the Gran Hotel Luna De Granada upon arrival. (B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday March 31: Valencia
After breakfast, check out of the hotel this morning and visit the legendary Alhambra, the most magnificent of all the Moorish palaces in Spain, and wander through the aromatic Generalife Gardens. After the visit, depart for Valencia, stopping for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, check into the Hotel Exe Rey Don Jaime. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening. (B,D)
Day 6, Wednesday April 1: Valencia
Founded as a Roman colony, Valencia boasts one of the largest historic centers in Spain, with a wealth of ancient monuments and cultural attractions. This morning you'll start to discover Valencia's rich heritage on a guided sightseeing tour, which includes visiting the city's cathedral, seeing the old silk exchange and taking a panoramic drive along the grand boulevards to view the impressive architecture of the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias. Enjoy dinner together at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 7, Thursday April 2: Madrid
After breakfast depart for your last destination of the capitol city of Madrid. Before arriving in Madrid, enjoy a stop in Toledo. Get to know the old Visigothic capital of Toledo. With an expert local guide giving commentary via personal headsets, explore the beautiful San Juan de los Reyes monastery where an informal sing may be possible. After free time for lunch on your own, continue to Madrid for hotel check in and a bit of time to relax before dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 8, Friday April 3: Madrid
Madrid's rich heritage comes alive on your guided sightseeing tour of classic Spanish boulevards, grand plazas, and the diverse architecture of modern-day Madrid. Highlights include the Plaza de Espagna with its statue of Don Quixote. Then breeze past the crowds with your timed reservation to visit the magnificent Prado, one of the world's premier art museums. Here, an expert provides illuminating commentary via personal headsets on the artwork of Velazquez, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, and Bosch. Even the 18th-century Neo-Classical building that houses the collection is stunning. After some free time in the afternoon, come together for a flamenco dance and singing lesson at Tablao with professional flamenco dancers and singers! Dinner is served with the Flamenco Show this evening. (B,D)
Day 9, Saturday April 4: Madrid
Enjoy an excursion to Segovia this morning where a local guide will show you its impressive 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct, cathedral and dreamlike Alcazar. Enjoy a bit of free time in Segovia for lunch on your own, before returning to Madrid for rehearsal for the tour's farewell concert! Celebrate an amazing performance tour this evening with dinner together. (B,D)
Day 10, Sunday April 5: Departure
After breakfast and check out, transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
