Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Sunday June 21: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Monday June 22: Leipzig

Welcome to Germany. Meet your Encore Tour Manager, board your luxury coach, and embark on a day tour to Erfurt. Then, head to Leipzig, check into your hotel, and have dinner together. (D)

Day 3, Tuesday June 23: Leipzig

Wake up today and travel to Eisenach! Visit the famous Wartburg Castle, home to Martin Luther’s Room, where he translated the New Testament into German, and the original Sängersaal, the setting for Wagner’s opera Tannhäuser. In the early afternoon, visit Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthplace in Eisenach, and then continue to Leipzig, home to many famous musicians, including J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, and Wagner. (B,D)

Day 4, Wednesday June 24: Leipzig

Enjoy a guided city tour of Leipzig this morning with a local licensed English-speaking guide. You will see St. Nikolai Church and St. Thomas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach served 27 years as Choirmaster of the St. Thomas Choir School! You will also find Bach’s final resting place in St. Thomas Church. You will then visit the Bach Museum next to St. Thomas’s Church. This afternoon, prepare for your first performance opportunity in Leipzig. (B,D)

Day 5, Thursday June 25: Dresden

Our day begins with a scenic transfer from Leipzig to the enchanting city of Dresden, where history and culture intertwine in a mesmerizing tapestry. Discover Dresden this morning as your local guide teaches you about the Saxon history and how this magnificent city was rebuilt after its destruction during World War II. You will visit the famous Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), which was reduced to rubble during World War II and then rebuilt through donations from people all across Germany, as well as take a guided tour of the Semperoper. Check into your hotel and have dinner together this evening. (B,D)

Day 6, Friday June 26: Dresden

Today, you have the morning on your own. This afternoon, prepare for your second concert at the Lukas Kirche or something similar. Then, have dinner and a performance. (B,D)

Day 7, Saturday June 27: Prague

This morning, start your journey to Prague. Along the way, you'll stop to have a guided visit of the Terezin Fortress and have an independent lunch. Arrive in Prague and check into your hotel. This evening, you'll have a cruise on the Vlatava River! Relax and unwind as you soak in panoramic views of the city's iconic landmarks while enjoying a delicious buffet dinner on board. (B,D)

Day 8, Sunday June 28: Prague

Wake up in the capital city of Prague, the perfectly preserved jewel of the Czech Republic. After breakfast, take a guided walking tour of this historic city, highlighting the Castle District, Lesser Town, Charles Bridge, the Vltava River, and the Old Town, with its iconic Astronomical Clock. Enjoy free time to explore and have lunch on your own before an afternoon rehearsal. This evening, perform your next concert of the tour at Martinu Hall in Prague. (B,D)

Day 9, Monday June 29: Vienna

After breakfast, check out of your hotel, board the motorcoach, and head to Vienna, the capital of Austria. Check into your hotel and have time to explore (B,D)

Day 10, Tuesday June 30: Vienna

Vienna boasts an incomparable musical history and tradition, with no other city able to claim such an illustrious list of composers, including Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Mahler, Bruckner, and many more who lived and worked there. Today, you can embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the Ringstrasse, the street that encircles the city's heart, featuring its majestic Imperial buildings. Continue on foot from Hofburg Palace to Stephansplatz and enter the Mozarthaus. Prepare for your final concert at St. Stephens Cathedral or the Musikverein tonight and a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of your tour in Central Europe! (B,D)

Day 11, Wednesday July 1: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
