Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday February 13: Guanacaste Coast
Depart the USA today for an exciting musical adventure in the tropics. Arrive in Liberia where you will meet your tour manager and transfer to the hotel for check-in. After an arrival briefing, the rest of the day is free to explore on the beach at your leisure. Have dinner together tonight. (D)
Day 2, Saturday February 14: Guanacaste Coast
Guanacaste is the center of Mesoamerican culture in Costa Rica.Today, a developed coastline still hosts traditional musical bands . Today, rehearse and perform at an exemplary community school. You will learn about their sustainable practices and their responsible place in a divided community. Share with local Costa Rican students and those from all over the world. The proceeds from ticket sales will be reinvested in educational sponsorship opportunities for the community.(B,D)
Day 3, Sunday February 15: Monteverde
Today, travel to Monteverde. Initially settled in the 1950s by a group of Quakers from Alabama, Monteverde is a leader in sustainable communities in Costa Rica. After lunch, hike over the beautiful hanging bridges in the Cloud Forest. (B, L,D)
Day 4, Monday February 16: Monteverde
Wake up early for an adrenaline adventure where the zip-line was invented in the Cloud Forest. In the afternoon, prepare for your rehearsal and concert, which will be held by this special, artistically enthusiastic community awaiting your arrival. (B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday February 17: Arenal
Make the most of your time in the agricultural hub of the north by exploring an all-organic farm, where you can discover sustainable living practices and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later in the day, venture to the renowned hot springs fed by the Arenal Volcano for a truly unforgettable experience. (B,L,D)
Day 6, Wednesday February 18: Arenal
Today, seize the chance to join a Chocolate Tour, where you can indulge in chocolate straight from the source amidst the tropical forest where cocoa beans thrive. Later in the afternoon, prepare for your second concert, set to take place at the historic La Fortuna Church. (B,D)
Day 7, Thursday February 19: San Jose
: Today, visit the oldest carbon-neutral coffee farm. Then, journey to Sarchí - the hub of Costa Rica's arts and crafts trade, renowned for its ox-carts and leather rocking chairs. In the afternoon, travel to the capital, San Jose. (B,D)
Day 8, Friday February 20: San Jose
After breakfast, visit the Gold Museum, which boasts a large collection of over 1600 artifacts of Pre-Columbian gold dating back to AD 500! In the afternoon, begin setting up for your final concert. Tonight, perform your next full concert for the people of San Jose at the Teatro Nacional. Afterward, have a farewell dinner together as a group (B,D)
Day 9, Saturday February 21: Departure
Transfer to the airport in San Jose for return flight to the United States. (B)
