Trinity Lutheran - Austria and Czech Republic Tour

Day 1, Thursday June 26: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Friday June 27: Salzburg

Your Encore Tour Manager will meet you upon arrival in Munich and transfer you to the hotel in Salzburg, Austria. Located in the Salzach River Valley, Salzburg is one of the most picturesque of all European cities -- indeed, it is all of Europe in concentrated form with a castle, cathedral, squares, gardens, spires and rivers. During the Holy Empire, it was called the northern Rome, due to the importance of the Prince Archbishops and the Baroque. The city's reputation is based on a living musical tradition being the city of Mozart. Its beauty and vibrant musical life have made it one of Europe's foremost cultural cities. Enjoy dinner in a restaurant this evening before turning in for a good night's sleep! (D)

Day 3, Saturday June 28: Salzburg

After breakfast, provided each morning of your tour, you will enjoy a half day walking tour through the historical town to see the Mozartplatz, the cathedral, Pegasus Fountain, and Mirabell Gardens. Pay a visit to Mozart's birthplace museum in the heart of the city. An optional recital at Salzburg Cathedral is possible today. Dinner will be in a local restaurant this evening. (B,D)

Day 4, Sunday June 29: Vienna

Check out of the hotel and start your day with the journey to the picturesque lakeside town of Hallstatt, where the local Lutheran church will welcome you to sing at their Sunday service. After an independent lunch break, visit the famous saltmines which give the Salzkammergut region and city of Salzburg their names. Continue your journey east through the Austrian Lake Distrcit to the capital of Vienna, the historical center of the musical world and a must-visit for any musician. On arrival in Vienna you will be treated to an exclusive reception in the amazing roof space of the St Stephen Cathedral before your dinner together (B,D)

Day 5, Monday June 30: Vienna

After breakfast at your hotel, meet a local guide for a tour of this elegant city that highlights the musically rich history of Vienna. From St. Stephen's Cathedral, to the Vienna House of Music and the famous graveyard where Vienna's Maestos rest, the day will be filled with music history and sounds of Waltz. Perform a concert in a local church such as the Capuchin Church in the heart of the city, before having dinner together (B,D)

Day 6, Tuesday July 1: Brno

After breakfast depart for the Czech Republic's second city of Brno. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring Brno -- the largest Moravian city and birthplace of Janacek -- on bus and by foot with licensed English-speaking guides. To end the day, have dinner in a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 7, Wednesday July 2: Brno

After breakfast take a trip to the Moravian Karst cave complex, including a guided tour of the caves, underground boat ride and a three-course lunch in a local restaurant! Return to Brno and have an afternoon rehearsal and concert at a local venue such as the Red Church in Brno. Then, eat dinner in a local restaurant in Brno. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Thursday July 3: Prague

Check out of your hotel and depart for Prague! On arrival in Prague, attend a mayoral reception as part of the Musica Orbis Festival, before taking a guided sightseeing tour of this spectacular city on foot, beginning with the Castle district. Continue past the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral as you make your way to the Old Town.. Later, check in to your hotel and have dinner together ! (B,D)

Day 9, Friday July 4: Prague

This morning, participate in a choral masterclass as part of the Musica Orbis festival. Later, give your final concert in a Prague church as part of the Festival (this concert could be a joint concert with another participating ensemble if desired). Celebrate your successful tour with a farewell dinner (B,D)

Day 10, Saturday July 5: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
