Rockport Family and Friends Tour of the Balkans

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Thursday April 15: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Friday April 16: Dubrovnik

Arrive in Dubrovnik and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy time to settle in and explore the Old Town at your own pace. Have dinner together this evening. (D)

Day 3, Saturday April 17: Dubrovnik

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic cruise along Dubrovnik's coastline, offering spectacular views of the city walls and nearby islands. Following lunch on your own, spend the afternoon exploring the charming cafés, galleries, and shops of the Old Town. This evening, attend the ensemble's first performance. (B)

Day 4, Sunday April 18: Split

Today, leave Dubrovnik behind and journey to the renowned Pelješac Peninsula, one of Croatia's premier wine-producing regions. Visit family-owned wineries, sample local vintages, and enjoy a leisurely lunch featuring regional specialties and Adriatic seafood. Continue to Split and enjoy a free evening along the famous Riva waterfront promenade. (B,L) (B)

Day 5, Monday April 19: Split

This morning, discover Split through its vibrant food culture with a guided culinary walking tour featuring local markets, olive oils, cheeses, and Dalmatian specialties. The afternoon is free for independent exploration. This evening, attend the ensemble's performance. (B)

Day 6, Tuesday April 20: Zadar

Instead of continuing directly to Zadar, enjoy an excursion to beautiful Krka National Park, famous for its waterfalls, walking trails, and scenic river landscapes. Visit the medieval town of Šibenik before continuing north. Enjoy a relaxed evening on the Adriatic coast. (B)

Day 7, Wednesday April 21: Ljubljana

Travel through Croatia's picturesque interior with stops in charming villages known for truffles, olive oil, and local crafts. Enjoy a leisurely countryside lunch before arriving in Ljubljana. Spend the evening exploring Slovenia's delightful capital at your own pace. (B,L)

Day 8, Thursday April 22: Ljubljana

Enjoy a relaxed morning featuring a guided walking tour of Ljubljana followed by free time for shopping, riverside cafés, or a visit to Ljubljana Castle. This evening, attend the ensemble's final concert. (B)

Day 9, Friday April 23: Ljubljana

After breakfast, travel to the beautiful alpine resort town of Lake Bled, one of Slovenia's most iconic destinations. Enjoy a traditional pletna boat ride to Bled Island and visit Bled Castle, perched high above the lake with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping, or a leisurely walk along the lakeshore. Be sure to sample the region's famous Bled cream cake before returning to Ljubljana later this afternoon. This evening, enjoy a festive Farewell Dinner together with the Rockport High School musicians, featuring traditional Slovenian cuisine and live music. (B,D)

Day 10, Saturday April 24: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
