Prince of Peace Choir Tour to the Baltics

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Sunday June 13: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Monday June 14: Riga

Arrive in Riga this afternoon and meet your Tour Manager who will transfer you to the hotel for check-in. After an arrival briefing and short orientation tour, enjoy a welome dinner together in a local restaurant (B,D)

Day 3, Tuesday June 15: Riga

After breakfast take a guided tour through the city of Riga, visiting the old town, surrounded by a water channel, with the famous Dome cathedral, St. John and St. Peter churches, the Freedom Monument, National Opera, Parliament, Riga Castle, the cosy spacious squares, and the remarkable Art Nouveau district. This afternoon rehearse for your first concert in a church such as St John's in the heart of Riga. DInner tonight is independent (B)

Day 4, Wednesday June 16: Riga

After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the spectacular Gauja National Park to explore Hill of Dainu, Gutmana cave, Sigulda castle ruins and the 13th century Turaida castle, built under the order of Teutonic knights and Riga‘s bishop. Return to Riga for the rest of the day at leisure before and independent dinner together tonight (B)

Day 5, Thursday June 17: Tallinn

Depart Riga and drive along the Coastal Highway this morning to the Estonian summer resort town of Parnu to enjoy the coastal scenery. After a short tour and time for lunch on your own, continue through the North Estonian land of forests to arrive in Tallinn and check in before an indepdendent dinner (B)

Day 6, Friday June 18: Tallinn

After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Tallinn that takes you through the most interesting sections of the city, past the Kadriorg Park and the Song Festival Grounds to the Pirita district to learn about Estonian history and contemporary life. The walking portion of your tour covers Old Town, proceeding across Toompea Hill, stopping at the Parliament Building, Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral, the Dome Church and the scenic viewpoint. It then leads you to the narrow, winding streets of the Lower Town and ends at Town Hall Square. Tallinn blends medieval tranquility and modern urban life with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. Later today rehearse and perform your next concert in a major church in the city, before dnner together in the Old Town (B,D)

Day 7, Saturday June 19: Tallinn

After breakfast, spend the morning in service to a local charity, providing support, food and clothing for the needy and homeless of the city. This afternoon you'll visit the Rocca al Mare ethnographic open air museum,which brings traditional Estonian rural life to life. Visitors can explore how Estonian families lived and worked from 18th to 20th century. Dinner tonight is independent (B)

Day 8, Sunday June 20: Helsinki

This morning take part in the Lutheran liturgy at one of Tallinn's main churches or cathedrals. After a quick independent lunch head to the ferry port to catch your fast ferry to Helsinki, arriving in time for an independent dinner (B)

Day 9, Monday June 21: Helsinki

This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour to see the area in and around Senate Square, the Presidential Palace, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, the Opera, Kaivopuisto Park, the Hietaniemi cemeteries, and the surroundings of the Olympic Stadium. Later rehearse for your final performance at the Helsinki Church of the Rock, Temppeliaukio (subject to confirmation). This evening enjoy a farewell dinner and celebrate your successful concert tour of the Baltics! (B,D)

Day 10, Tuesday June 22: Departure

This morning take an early transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
