St. Lawrence Martyr Musical Pilgrimage to Italy

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Thursday October 14: Overnight Flight

Depart from Los Angeles today on your flight to Rome.

Day 2, Friday October 15: Assisi

Arrive in Rome today and meet your Encore Tour Manager in the arrivals hall. Transfer to Assisi for check-in, followed by an orientation walk with your Tour Manager to introduce you to your surroundings. Enjoy a welcome dinner together this evening at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 3, Saturday October 16: Assisi

Today is free in Assisi to explore on your own. Thiis afternoon, meet together at the Basilica of St. Francis for rehearsal for this evening's concert in Assisi. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening at a local restaurant. (B)

Day 4, Sunday October 17: Assisi

After breakfast at your hotel, return to the Basilica of St. Francis to provide the music for this morning's liturgy. The rest of the day is free in Assisi. Lunch and dinner arre on your own to choose from a local restaurant of your choice. (B)

Day 5, Monday October 18: Rome

After breakfast and hotel check-out, depart the region of Umbria and head for trhe Italian capitol, Rome, the "Eternal City". Arrive in Rome for hotel check-in, a walking tour of some of the city's most beautiful piazze, followed by free time for dinner on your own. (B)

Day 6, Tuesday October 19: Rome

After breakfast at the hotel, meet a local guide for a tour of the vast collection of art in the Vatican Museums. This tour includes the amazing works of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel and concludes with a visit to the Basilica of St. Peter. There is free time for lunch on your own in Rome before meeting later this afternoon at San Lorenzo for liturgy that the choir will celebrate in song today for daily communicates. The Martyred Saint was layed to rest at the Verano Cemetery there near the Basilica of San Lorenzo. The evening is free to enjoy dinner on your own at one of the city's amazing restaurants. (B)

Day 7, Wednesday October 20: Rome

After breakfast at your hotel, go together to the site of the Weekly Papal Audience (pending the Pontif's schedule). This memorable event will certainly be a highlight of the tour. Following the Papal Audience, enjoy free time in the Eternal City to take in another one of the many wonders on your own. Meet later this afternoon for rehearsal in preparation for this evening's farewell concert. Dine on your own this evening. Your Tour Manager is available for many wonderful culinary suggestions. (B)

Day 8, Thursday October 21: Rome

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, return to The Basilica of St. Peter's to provide the music for a scheduled mass at the Basilica's Throne Altar. The afternoon is free to explore Rome on your own. Meet this evening to enjoy a special farewell dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 9, Friday October 22: Departure

After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, transfer to the airport for return flight to Los Angeles. (B)
