Day 1, Monday March 29: Antigua

Welcome to Guatemala! Upon arrival, meet your Encore Tour Managers and enjoy a secure transfer through the stunning highlands to Antigua Guatemala. After checking into your hotel, set out on a guided orientation walk through the historic city center, taking in iconic landmarks including Cerro de la Cruz — the hilltop cross offering breathtaking panoramic views of Volcán de Agua and the valley below. This evening, come together for a special welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 2, Tuesday March 30: Antigua

Experience the enduring legacy of St. Hermano Pedro through a meaningful day of hands-on service at Las Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro. Students work alongside staff in rotating roles—assisting with meals, supporting caregivers during their work, and participating in conversation and games with the hospital residents. This immersive experience brings Franciscan values to life through direct service, reflection, and connection with a community dedicated to compassion and dignity.This evening participate in a art and weaving workshop(B,L,D)

Day 3, Wednesday March 31: Antigua

Students return to Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro for a second morning of service, working alongside residents and staff through games, music, meal assistance, and shared presence. Enjoy lunch in Antigua before setting out on a guided exploration of the city’s rich Franciscan heritage. Visit key sites including El Calvario Church, Iglesia San Francisco el Grande (home to the tomb of Hermano Pedro), the ruins of Santa Clara, and Las Capuchinas, bringing history, faith, and architecture to life. Conclude the day with a hands-on cacao workshop at ChocoMuseo, where students discover the cultural history of chocolate and create their own sweet treat. (B,L,D)

Day 4, Thursday April 1: Antigua

Begin the day with a meaningful visit to a local Guatemalan school, where students will meet their Guatemalan peers and participate in a cultural exchange activity. This experience provides valuable insight into daily life, education, and community traditions while fostering cross-cultural connections. Next, visit a local coffee plantation to discover why Guatemala is famous for producing some of the world's finest coffee. Learn about the journey from bean to cup as you explore the growing, harvesting, and roasting process, and gain an appreciation for the role coffee plays in Guatemala's culture and economy. Later, enjoy a hands-on Guatemalan cooking class led by local chefs. Using traditional ingredients, students will prepare authentic local dishes before enjoying the meal together. (B,L,D)

Day 5, Friday April 2: Antigua

Today you'll spend the morning at Caoba Farms, a certified organic farm in the hills surrounding Antigua, working alongside the farm's team planting, weeding, and harvesting while learning about sustainable agriculture and the sacred milpa, the indigenous trio of corn, beans, and squash. Enjoy a traditional farm-to-table lunch on site after this mornings work. Then meet a professional dance instructor leading an energetic session in cumbia, merengue, and traditional marimba-based steps — a celebration of the creativity and communal spirit that define Latin culture. Tonight enjoy a special farewell dinner during which you will reflect on the week's experiences, while enjoying exceptional Guatemalan cuisine. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Saturday April 3: Departure

After breakfast, bid farewell to Antigua as you transfer to the airport with a security escort for your return flight home to the USA.(B)
