Upland HS Tour to Scotland

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Thursday June 10: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Friday June 11: Edinburgh

Arrive in Edinburgh, and meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your Edinburgh hotel in time for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 3, Saturday June 12: Edinburgh

This morning take a guided sightseeing tour of Edinburgh, including the famous Royal Mile and entrance to the spectacular Castle which looms over the city. Later perform a concert at the grandest venue, St. Giles Cathedral situated right on the Royal Mile. Tonight you'll have dinner in a local restaurant (B)

Day 4, Sunday June 13: Edinburgh

Today take a trip first to the famous Kelpies, one of the most iconic sculptures in SCotland, and ride the Falkirk wheel, the largest lift for waterborne craft in the world! Continue to Stirling Castle, once the seat of the Scottish Royal Family,with an opportunity for an informal sing in the Royal Chapel. Later return to Edinburgh in time for dinner together (B,D)

Day 5, Monday June 14: Highlands

After breakfast and checking out, head north towards the rugged Highlands of Scotland. En route visit the picturesque town of Pitlochry, before diving into traditional Scottish farming with a visit to a sheepdog demonstrationl: marvel at the skill of farmer and dog as they work together. You'll also have the chance to visit the famous Cairngorms reindeer herd: if you're lucky they'll feed from your hands! Continue to the town of Aviemore for your overnight stop (B,D)

Day 6, Tuesday June 15: Highlands

This morning it's your turn to try and find the elusive Loch Ness Monster on the lake of the same name, as you cruise the lake on a traditional boat to Urquart Castle. Here you'll have the chance of an informal recital after your castle exploration. Dinner tonight is a traditional Scottish affair, complete with bagpiper and Scottish dancers who will be sure to get you involved! (B,D)

Day 7, Wednesday June 16: Glasgow

Leaving the Highlands, this morning we head south again stopping first in the maritime city of Dundee. Here you'll explore the Discovery Point and learn about the first expedition to the Antarctic which set sail from here. Today's early evening concert could take place in the V&A Musuem building in the city, before dinner and continuing on to Glasgow for your overnight stay (B,D)

Day 8, Thursday June 17: Glasgow

Today explore the bustling largest city in Scotland, Glasgow. With a rich tradition of art, you'll discover the city's rich street art scene, with some free time in the shopping areas. Tonight you'll have a farewell dinner to celebrate your concert tour (B,D)

Day 9, Friday June 18: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
