Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Wednesday March 17: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Thursday March 18: Vienna
Upon arrival in Europe this morning, meet your tour manager and transfer by coach to Vienna city center. Check into your hotel, and have a brief orientation tour with your tour manager before dinner in the hotel (D)
Day 3, Friday March 19: Vienna
Today you'll use the safe, clean and efficient Vienna public transit system to explore one of the world's most musical cities with a guide Vienna, home to great symphonists and choral composers from Haydn through to Schoenberg: your exploration includes the wonderful St Stephen's Cathedral, and the famous Ringstrasse with amazing architecture from the last few centuries ! After an early dinner your performance could be at the wonderful Haus der Musik, a combined museum and music space regularly hosting recitals. (B,D)
Day 4, Saturday March 20: Vienna
This morning is at leisure in the city: you could shop on the Kartnerstrasse, take in the Spanish Riding School or one of the many amazing museums and galleries. After dinner tonight you may like to ride the famous Riesenrad ferris wheel as the sun sets on the city, and on your stay in Austria! (B,D)
Day 5, Sunday March 21: Budapest
This morning after breakfast transfer by metro to the Central Railway Station, and take the express train to Budapest, a journey which only takes 2.5 hours between the two capitals! On arrival make the short walk from the station to your nearby hotel; the afternoon is given over to a sightseeing tour with your tour manager before dinner together (B,D)
Day 6, Monday March 22: Budapest
Today after breakfast begin your exploration of this stunning city on the Danube, including on the Buda side of the river, the Fisherman Bastion viewpoint, the ornate St Matthias Church, and the vibrant shops and markets of the Pest side of the city. Later perform your first concert in the city in a venue such as the Nador Hall, before dinner together in a local traditional restaurant (B,D)
Day 7, Tuesday March 23: Budapest
This morning after breakfast take the train to the city of Kecskemet, birthplace of the world famous composer and educator Zoltan Kodaly. Today you'll take part in a singing workshop with a renowned Kodaly practitioner. On your return to Budapest explore the city by night with spectacular views over the Danube, rounded off by a farewell dinner together (B,D)
Day 8, Wednesday March 24: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
