Music and Nature in Costa Rica

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Sunday March 14: San Jose

Arrive in the vibrant capital of Costa Rica, a country renowned for its commitment to sustainability. Enjoy a short walking tour with your Tour Manager before checking into your hotel and having a welcome dinner together. (D)

Day 2, Monday March 15: San Jose

Embark on a melodious journey through Costa Rica’s Central Mountain Range to the breathtaking La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Let the symphony of cascading waterfalls and vibrant wildlife awaken your musical spirit. Enjoy a group lunch before returning to the city for a rehearsal at the San Jose Cathedral. This evening, present your first concert performance of the tour for an appreciative audience of local community members. Celebrate a fantastic performance enjoying dinner together at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)

Day 3, Tuesday March 16: Aguas Zarcas

After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, depart San Jose for Aguas Zarcas. Highlighted today is a focus on the argricultural importance of this region. Stop for a guided tour of a local fruit grower to learn of the harmony between the environment and luscious fruit that thrives in this climate. Enjoy a tasting of fresh pineapple just cut from the plant. Continue to your hotel and enjoy the establishment's hote springs before dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,L,D)

Day 4, Wednesday March 17: Aguas Zarcas

After a slower pace to begin your day, today's focus is on a cultural exchange with the SINEM (Sistema Nacional de Educacion Musical)students, including a joint rehearsal. Return to the hotel to change before the evening’s Exchange Concert with the SINEM students, held right at the hotel. Conclude the day with a celebratory dinner together with your new found musical colleagues. (B, L, D)

Day 5, Thursday March 18: Monteverde

This morning, board the bus and depart for La Fortuna where you'll have an organic farm visit. Learn about sustainable farming and prepare an organic meal that you'll enjoy for lunch! Continue your journey to Monteverde and check in at your hotel. This evening, you'll dine at a local restaurant. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Friday March 19: Monteverde

Start your day with an exhilarating canopy adventure, where zip lines and hanging bridges offer a high-flying perspective on nature’s grand design. In the afternoon, prepare for a truly unique open-air concert. Adapting to one of the world’s most dynamic weather stages, this performance will resonate with the heart of Monteverde’s artistic community, with proceeds supporting local arts development. Enjoy a post-concert dinner and reception before returning to the hotel. (B,D)

Day 7, Saturday March 20: San Jose

Before bidding farewell to the cloud forest, delve into the rhythmic world of sustainable coffee production on a fascinating tour. Then, journey back to the Central Valley, your minds brimming with new melodies inspired by Costa Rica’s natural wonders. Check-in and enjoy dinner at the hotel upon arrival in San Jose. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Sunday March 21: Departure

Transfer to the airport in San Jose for return flight to the United States. (B)
