Day 1, Monday March 29: Overnight Flight

Depart from Chicago on your flight to Venice!

Day 2, Tuesday March 30: Venice Mainland

Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival in Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic, meet your Encore Tour Manager and transfer to your hotel. After getting checked-in, start exploring this magnificent city of canals and palaces with your 48 hour vaporetto pass, which allows you to come and go throughout the city as you please. Dinner will be together tonight at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 3, Wednesday March 31: Venice Mainland

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before having a group rehearsal in the hotel. Following rehearsal, board the Vaporetto waterbus and sail into downtown Venice. This morning and afternoon is yours to explore at your leisure. Suggestions for free time activities include a visit to the historic Fondaco dei Tedeschi for a breathtaking view of the city or the Doge's Palace (entrances to both under own arrangement). Rejoin your group for late afternoon rehearsal for Spirito's Premiere Italian Performance. After this evening's concert, celebrate a wonderful experience with dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday April 1: Montecatini

After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, depart for Florence where this afternoon a local guide who will provide commentary while showing you Brunelleschi's splendid Duomo, Ghiberti's famous Baptistry Doors, Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croce; where many illustrious Italians, including Michelangelo and Galileo, are buried; and the Piazza della Signoria; the political center of the Renaissance city. Also, breeze by the crowds with your own timed entrance to the Accademia, which houses Michelangelo's David. Continue to nearby Montecatini for hotel check in and dinner together. (B,D)

Day 5, Friday April 2: Montecatini

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, board the bus and travel to the charming town of San Gimignano. Marvel at the beautiful skyline of ancient towers that makes this site so unique. After free time for lunch on your own, continue to the Tuscan city of Lucca, birthplace of Puccini. Enjoy some free time this afternoon before afternoon rehearsal followed by your second Italian concert in the city that is the birthplace of Puccini! Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening in Lucca before returning to Montecatini for the overnight. (B,D)

Day 6, Saturday April 3: Rome

Depart this morning for Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, meet a local guide at the Vatican Museum for your timed entrance to see the vast collection of art collected over the centuries. The visit to the museum ends in the magnificent Sistine Chapel where you will marvel at the frescoes of Michaelangelo. Your guide will then lead you through the Basilica of St. Peter's where you will see Michaelangelo's Pieta and Bernini's amazing bronze "Baldichino" that highlights the tomb of St. Peter at the Throne Altar. Later, check in to your central Rome hotel for time to freshen up and relax a bit before dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 7, Sunday April 4: Rome

This morning, explore the iconic and historic Colosseum with a local guide and learn the many stories of this nearly 2,000-year-old Roman landmark that's considered one of the architectural wonders of the ancient world. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure before returning to St. Peter's Basilica where Spirito will provide music for afternoon liturgy at the Throne Altar. Please note that due to scheduling, mass participation may by in the morning. Celebrate a wonderful tour with a fun and interactive pizza making class where you will create your own Roman style pizza for dinner! (B,D)

Day 8, Monday April 5: Departure

After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the US. (B)
