Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday March 12: Montreal
After your flight to Montreal, meet your Encore Tour Manager upon arrival at the hotel in Montreal and begin exploring the second-largest French speaking city in the world. Drive to the top of Mont Royale to one of the most imposing landmarks of Montreal, L’Oratoire St. Joseph! The Oratory's dome is the third-largest of its kind in the world and the largest in Canada. Enjoy dinner at a local bistro (D)
Day 2, Saturday March 13: Montreal
After breakfast at your hotel, take a sightseeing tour of Greater Montreal. This includes the Golden Square Mile, McGill University, the site of the 1967 World's Fair, and more. After free time for lunch on your own and exploring in Old Montreal, before taking a tour of the Notre Dame Basilica as a guide recounts its history and describes its stunning architecture. This afternoon enjoy a workshop with clinicians from the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal or a local conservatoire. After an early dinner experience the real thing with a concert given by the OSM (schedule-dependent) (B,D)
Day 3, Sunday March 14: Montreal
Today take in the Grand Quay and Port of Montreal Tower, before preparing for your late afternoon concert performance in a local church or concert hall. Tonight experience the Aura immersive lightshow experience at the Basilica, before dinner together in a local bistro! (B,D)
Day 4, Monday March 15: Quebec
Today after breakfast check out and depart for the historic city of Quebec. Spend the afternoon exploring the Old Town with your tour manager, before your concert later: this could be a collaborative concert with a local French-speaking school. After dinner see "Quebec-by-Nite», an exciting tour within the fortifications that begins at the port of Place Royal with a ride across the Majestic St. Lawrence River on the Quebec Ferry Boat, offering a chance to gaze at the magnificent Chateau Frontenac and imposing outer fortifications of Old Quebec City while illuminated by hundreds of panoramic lights. Back on shore climb to the top of the Cliff in the Funiculaire Glass Elevator for a breathtaking view of the city and perfect picture taking opportunities from the Dufferin Terrace at the base of the Chateau Frontenac.(B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday March 16: Quebec
This morning explore the scenic Beaupre Coast on a panoramic tour along the St Lawrence River, including a visit to the famous Marie's Bread Oven for some traditional Quebecois bread and maple butter. This afternoon perform your final concert in a local venue, before tonight rounding off your tour with dinner at the "Cabane a Sucre" (Sugar Shack) - an unforgettable evening of food & fun, including a tour of the musuem, a local performer to entertain you during dinner with traditional "Quebecois" songs and music, and ending the night with famous maple taffy pulled on SNOW! Day 6, Wednesday March 17: Departure
This morning, have breakfast and then check out of your hotel, before departing for Montreal airport and your flight home (B)
