Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday June 11: Overnight Flight
Depart from Dallas on your Concert Tour of France and Germany!
Day 2, Saturday June 12: Nimes
Bienvenue en France! Meet your Tour Managers at the Marseilles Airport and travel via private deluxe motor coaches to the historic city of Nimes. Nimes is an important site of ancient Roman civilization with amazing sites such as the ancient Arenes de Nimes and La Maison Carrees. Check into your hotel this afternoon and enjoy time to refresh before an introductory walking tour with your Tour Managers to become acquainted with your surroundings. Enjoy a special welcome dinner at a local restaurant this evening. (D)
Day 3, Sunday June 13: Nimes
After breakfast at your hotel, meet local guides for a tour that takes you back centuries into the ancient Roman past of Nimes. The guides will tell stories of gladiators, emperors and the centuries old history of Nimes. Visit The Arenes de Nimes, La Maison Carrees, and Les Jardins de Fontaines. After free time for lunch on your own, transfer to your venue for this evening's concert performance in this Fort Worth Sister City. Encore staff in France will work with local officials for a seamless performance and coordination of concert logistics arranged by the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, and offials in Fort Worth. Please note that should the need arise for Encore to make all the concert arrangements in Nimes, Encore can take care of every detail and offer amazing venue options, full-housae capacity of audience, and the presence of local officials. Encore's Venue options include The Conservatoire de Nimes, and the Theatre de Nimes (cost available if concert servives needed). Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate your amazing concert! Day 4, Monday June 14: Paris
After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, transfer via motor coach to the train station to board the TGV to Paris. The high speed train will whisk you away to France's glittering capitol city. Your large suitcases and instruments will travel via climate controlled truck to Paris to avoid taking large items on the train. Arrive in Paris, board your private motor coaches and meet local guides for panoramic tour of Paris with stops for photos at the Arc de Triomphe, The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and The Luxemburg Gardens. After check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant followed by attending a symphonic concert at a major venue (pending 2027 season) (B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday June 15: Paris
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy visits and tours of two great Parisian Landmarks, The Basilica of Notre Dame and the elegant Palais Garnier, Paris' premiere opera house. After free time for lunch on your own, transfer to the Conservatoire de Paris for a musical workshop followed by a joint performance with the conservatoire orchestra at the prestegious Salle Gaveau on the Chsamps Elysees. Celebrate an amazing performance at dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 6, Wednesday June 16: Strasbourg
After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, transfer by private motor coach to the city of Strasbourg famous for its beautiful half-timbered houses and its stunning Gothic Cathedral.
Day 7, Thursday June 17: Strasbourg
After breakfast at your hotel, meet local guides for a walking tour of this beautiful city that highlights it's charming streets lined with cafes and shops and its amazing Gothic Cathedral. After free time for lunch on your own, transfer to your concert venue for rehearsal before this evening's performance in Strasbourg. Venue options include the Palais Universitaire. Celebrate another fantastic performance with dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 8, Friday June 18: Trier
After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, drive to another Fort Worth Sister City Trier, Germany. Arrive in Trier this afternoon, check into your hotel, and enjoy a walking tour with your Tour Manager to familiarize yourself with your surroundings. Enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 9, Saturday June 19: Trier
After breakfast at your hotel, meet local guides for city sightseeing that highlights the rich Roman past of Trier. Trier is famous as Germany's oldest city, renowned for its extensive, well-preserved Roman ruins, earning it the nickname "Rome of the North," with UNESCO-listed sites like the Porta Nigra, Imperial Baths, and Roman Amphitheater. It also boasts significant medieval heritage, including St. Peter's Cathedral. After free time for lunch on your own, transfer to your concert venue for the Sister City Farewell Concert Celebration. Enjoy a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant this evening. (B,D)
Day 10, Sunday June 20: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States.
