- Peter's Vision for this Tour: Don’t miss this high-octane experience! The way I love to travel personally is to experience as much as I can, and rest when I return home. We start with the wonderful Amadeus tour, which is quite simply my very favourite ACIS itinerary, taking in some of my most beloved cities in Europe from Venice to Prague, and some of the most beautiful scenery I know, particularly around Salzburg. This signature version is designed to create a trip that’s even more active—with lots of outdoor activities, less formal city sightseeing, more hiking, and just a maximum amount of hands-on fun! You’ll get loads of stories and interesting history and culture from me on the bus, shorter and more casual city sightseeing tours and all manner of other cool things. If you fancy hanging round your hotel room or having hours to go shopping, this probably isn’t the trip for you. Do come if you want to do things like take a summer toboggan ride down the side of an Austrian mountain, hike up to ruined castles, have a blast at a fantastic water park, and make every minute of every day count. Hallein Salt Mine
Mined in this region of Austria for thousands of years, "white gold," or salt, was a valuable and commodity. Discover one of the world's oldest salt mines—over 7,000 years old—set into Dürrnberg Mountain. Don white coveralls (to protect your clothing), and take a train 1,300 feet deep into the mine. Then take a slide down the last 140 feet. Learn the important role of the mine within the local area and how it helped ensure Salzburg became a powerful trading community. End your visit aboard a boat tour of the underground lake.

Journey to the picturesque lakeside town of St. Gilgen to learn how to make the region's top chocolate souvenir—the delicious mozartkugel, named for Salzburg's musical son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. As you try your hand at melting, pouring, forming, wrapping and tasting the ingredients, the combination of dark chocolate, marzipan and nougat is sure to make this activity delicious!
