Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Friday March 10: Overnight Flight

Depart from the USA.

Day 2, Saturday March 11: Hoedspruit

Arrive in Johannesburg, meet your tour manager and transfer to Raptors Lodge in Hoedspruit. In the afternoon visit the Khamai Reptile Centre, dedicated to reptile conservation and education. (L,D)

Day 3, Sunday March 12: Hoedspruit

This morning a short walk brings you to a local school where you will have the opportunity to partake in joint activities with the local students, pending school approval and availability. In the afternoon visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre to learn more about native animals, such as cheetahs, that may soon be extinct. Tonight enjoy a special South African BBQ dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 4, Monday March 13: Kruger National Park

This morning stop for a local school visit and tour around the campus, pending school approval and availability. Then journey to Kruger National Park, one of the top national parks in Africa. Meet local students from the Accorhoek and Bushback area who have not previously had the chance to visit the park and who will join you in sharing today's safari experience. During your safari exploration, keep an eye out for the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos. Tonight will be spent at a traditional safari camp lodging, Satara Camp. (B,L,D)

Day 5, Tuesday March 14: Kruger National Park

This morning you will enjoy a thrilling game drive through Kruger National Park. Some of the animals you may spot include zebra, blue wildebeest, impala or giraffe, all while enjoying the scenic landscape within the park. Along the way, stop for a picnic lunch before returning to your camp. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Wednesday March 15: Kruger National Park

Today’s game drive will take you to one of the park’s entrance gates and to a bird hide where you may see hippopotamus, waterbucks, crocodiles, impalas, a variety of birds and perhaps even some thirsty elephants. Return to your camp in time for dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7, Thursday March 16: Kruger National Park

At the start of today's game drive, visit the Elephant Hall of Fame at Letaba Rest Camp. The museum covers elephant evolution, biology, behavior, ecology and research. Continue on to beautiful Mopani Rest Camp, one of Kruger National Park’s best kept secrets. Be sure to take in the scenic views from the banks of the Pioneer Dam and visit the large, gnarled old baobab tree at the camp’s heart. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Friday March 17: Kruger National Park

This morning journey through Kruger National Park to vast wilderness area that’s home to The Outpost, bordered to the north by the Limpopo River and Zimbabwe and to the east by Crooks Corner and Mozambique.
