America's Team Costa Rica Tournament

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Wednesday July 15: San Jose

Depart from the USA. Arrive in the Costa Rican capital of San José, where you'll meet your ACIS Tour Manager and begin to explore, discovering how history has shaped this vibrant city both architecturally and socially.

Day 2, Thursday July 16: San Carlos

Wake up early and depart to San Carlos. Known for its perfectly conic shaped Arenal Volcano. Get your legs ready for competition by going down to La Fortuna Waterfall, bathing in its therapeutic water, and going back up again. Have a delicious lunch in an open-air classroom of a school principal turned organic farmer, and hike your way up the Arenal Volcano. This evening view the Arenal Volcano and swim in the therapeutic waters of the hot springs at it's base. (B,L,D)

Day 3, Friday July 17: San Jose

Explore the nearby rainforest with a bird's-eye perspective on the flora and fauna of this unique ecosystem during an adventurous canopy tour. Head back to San Jose with a journey to Sarchí, the hub of Costa Rica's arts and crafts trade, known for its ox-carts and leather rocking chairs. (B,D)

Day 4, Saturday July 18: San Jose

The competition begins today with games 1, 2, and 3. Later, visit an NGO that uses sport to form leaders of change in vulnerable communities by offering free sports and life-training, providing tools that strengthen their life skills, values, and abilities to overcome challenges in their environment. Day 5, Sunday July 19: San Jose

Today’s tournament games will continue with finals. After games 4, 5 and 6 being played the closing ceremony will take place with all teams coming together. (B,D)

Day 6, Monday July 20: Puntarenas Region

Journey to Manuel Antonio, where the forest meets the Pacific coastline. Spend the rest of the day getting a feel for the local culture and relaxing in beautiful natural surroundings. (B,D)

Day 7, Tuesday July 21: Puntarenas Region

Free day to enjoy the beach! (B,D)

Day 8, Wednesday July 22: San Jose

Free morning for more beach time! Enjoy your last night in Costa Rica with a farewell dinner and folklore show. (B,D)

Day 9, Thursday July 23: Departure

Departure for the US. (B)
